We bought this refrigerator 2 1/2 years ago because I really wanted the matching stove... Bad idea! The design of the ice maker and left door leaves door shelves that are oddly shaped so very few items are small enough to actually fit in them. To make it worse both of the 'L' shaped door shelves have cracked. Since we've had almost nothing in these shelves, and the cracks are across the narrow portion of the shelves, I have to assume that they were badly designed. Neither my husband nor I are rough on our belongings, so if you're buying this refrigerator for a large family, or have teenagers who dont know their own strength, keep shopping!!
I have the same refrigerator with the same problems and I understand that Samsung is under a class action lawsuit. I sincerely hope that they resolve this huge problem.
I've had this fridge for 2.5 years. After it went out of warranty, the ice cube tray in the top half keeps freezing over. This prevents ice cubes from coming out. It takes way too much effort to correct this and should not have to correct this at all.
this product worked great for about 2 years than the freezer went out and thankfully i bought the extended warranty so got that fixed and less than a year later it went out again,, never again will i buy a samsung appliance bc something similar happened with my oven
10 months after buying, ice maker froze up. tech installed fix. 6 months later, it froze again. even though the original warranty repair was covered, this was not. .
We've owned this refrigerator for approx two years and have had it worked on three times now. The back panel in the refrigerator part has some sort of glitch, that freezes up and causes the fan to make a terribly loud noise for several days, then it eventually stops working, thus causing the fridge to stop cooling. According to my highly knowledgeable appliance repair man, this is a glitch in certain year models of this design. I paid way too much for this refrigerator, to have this happen. Samsung, you've lost another customer.
This Frig is great for three the first three - six months. Then it is garbage. You will have to melt the ridiculous ice build up on the internal cooling parts every three months like clock work! I paid out of my own pocket for a Samsung Tech to come to my house and deal with it the first time - and this dude knew right away what was wrong and basically said it is a problem that will keep happening. It did keep happening! Do not waste your money or time on this design flaw!
The freezer draw is now an option to add and have to purchase separately. Used to be standard!
we bought this refrigerator in dec 2019 and we been having problems with the ice maker, it constantly freezes, it won't make ice and it gets stuck. we tired of it please help.
I've had this refer for five years. The icemaker stopped working after the first year and this is a known issue if you google it. There is no service in my area and they wont send you the parts to repair yourself. While the refer itself is "ok", the icemaker is poorly designed and all of them will fail due to the design flaw. I sold appliances for over ten years and would have told my customers to avoid this product and in fact all Samsung products due to the lack of support.
