Every thing was fine with the phone-nothing fancy and good for prepaid. Tmobile only charges 10 cts per minute if you replenish with $100 or more which has a 1 year expiration date but the minutes remaining after the new minutes are purchased will rollover for another year. I don't know of any other mobile company that will charge only 10 cents per minute without a monthly plan. The only problem I had this time is that the SIMS card didn't work-I had to go to a Tmobile store twice after calling the prepaid customer service twice to get a new SIMS card. Fortunately, Tmobile didn't charge me thier usual $20 for that.
This is a great back-up affordable cell phone. Especially when your still in a contract with T-mobile. Only advice, is to check your area zip code first on the Walmart website before you go ahead and purchase your phone. No bells & whistles, but certainly does the job.
Bought this very basic flip phone first for my Dad, then my mother became jealous. So just bought another one for her -- online price was WAY better than in-store! Phone is easy to activate and easy to use. Plus overall yearly cost for this phone is MUCH lower than just about every other carrier -- at least for my parents, who don't text or do data & who aren't the kind to have a cell phone glued to their ears all day & night.
This is a nice phone for the price and for a simple first phone. Originally got one for my mother who enjoys simple things but wants one that provides enough features to keep her happy. Combined with the $100 for 1,000 minutes, good for a year, T-Mobile plan ... this plan works for both of us. Hope you enjoy it like we do!
This isn't fancy, but if you are looking for a phone with clear reception, sturdy and dependable, this will due just fine. I had this model previously a few years ago, and they have decreased the weight without sacrificing any quality. The only negatives I would have are very few ringtones to chose, and with bluetooth in an auto, you have to connect it each time you get in the care. But, overall a solid phone at a great price.
Great little phone if you are looking for an unlocked, cheap, "dumb" flip phone. Small, so it fits in any pocket. Has lots of features that I haven't tried yet such as bluetooth and web browser. Does not hold a Mini SD card like my last phone did, but I didn't use it anyway. Haven't had it long enough to see how hardy it is, but it looks like it is sturdier than my last phone that cost 4 tmes as much. If you want a flip phone just to make calls with, this is a good one. I use it with a T-Mobile pre-paid plan for an average cost of $8 a month.
Recommend it for people who aren't into heavy texting and use cell phones primarily to make phone calls. It's an excellent phone for senior citizens. The ring tone isn't super loud but can clearly hear the person on the other end of the line. As for the camera it's not a point and shoot. You have to scroll through several picture frames (borders), select, and then take a picture.
I am very happy with my new cell phone from T-Mobile. I had a similar type of phone from another company. The T-Mobile phone cost a little more, but it is better quality. It does have some features which my previous phone did not have; the Camera, Bluetooth, larger phone book memory and improved texting functions. The charge on the battery is long lasting and charges much faster than my previous phone. It seems to stay cleaner, not as many smudges, etc. The only thing that has been a problem for me is pre-paying for the minutes. I use my phone mostly for emergencies, a few texts, and a few other misc. calls. I opened the phone and went on-line to register it and buy some minutes. The web site explains all the pre-paid monthly options and other info. Finally at the end of the page it did say you can buy minutes as you go, or pay-as-you go which is what I had wanted. It seems as if they try to hide the pay as you go plan. I bought 30 minutes for $10. Then I went to another website to add more minutes at a lower price. The only way I could do this was if I had an every month pre-paid plan. I was not happy about that, as it was not explained in the product description. Of course the best deal is the $100/one year plan..I think it was 1000 minutes...13 cents a minute. When I have $100, that is what I will do. In summary, a very nice phone but buying minutes is more expensive than I had planned.
The Samsung T139 Flip is a good, general purpose phone - no frills, no pile of excess stuff to carry aroun. It uses battery power like crazy, you get about 5-6 days on standby - nowhere near that long is you talk a lot.. Audio quality is good, but not great. It really struggles sometimes to get thru, but it doesn't drop too many calls. Camera is adequate for general pictures but it has no flash and it not too adaptable to darkness. Very limited amout of ringtones and wallpapers, but they CAN be downloaded (usually at a cost).. Good value for a cheap phone. Had an identical one for 4 years prior, but it finally gave out with a poor antenna connection. It died slowly but steadily.
If you read all of the reviews online you will see that this is a great phone for basic calling needs.I took my sim card out of my old T-Mobile contract phone and put it in this phone without activating the phone for pre-paid use.Signal is very good, sound is good.My sons seem to wreck my expensive phones regularly. This phone is a good alternative.Just around $25 to replace. When this phone gets destroyed I will simply buy another without the high cost.Read up on phone before buying though. As you cannot connect to your pc and download pictures.
