It's cool that you can learn the names of these animals in 3 different languages. The padding on the back comes off a little too easy but that's not a big deal. Pretty neat. I wish it lit up or something exciting or eye catching.
It's pretty good. 7 month plays with the doors and enjoys it. There are 3 pop-up doors. The other doors just slide open to show a picture. It needs a volume control - it's really loud. The buttons/sliders whatever are spring loaded and they're too difficult for a baby to activate. We do it for him and he's entertained. That being said, it's relatively fun and the baby enjoys it. I'd say it's worth $15 to $20.
My daughter received this at 9 months old. She is 19 months and still plays with it. I think it is a durable, good learning tool, other than the buttons to open the doors were difficult for her little fingers to push.
This toy definately holds my 14 month old son's attention. He also seeks it out and brings it to us to play with. The only fault I can find so far with it is that it came with a cusion on the back that our son immediately pulled off. But, that was not a big deal, he just plays with it separately. He loves the barn animal songs and sounds and the different languages.
This toy has been a favorite of my son since he was about 7 months (now 13 months). His older cousin (21 months) loves it, too. But now it will say "Hello, Cow!" when you open up the other animal doors. And the rooster will only talk when you are in French-mode. Basically, the computer or whatever inside has shorted out. But it was fun while it lasted! The boys loved to see the animals pop out and to open and shut the doors. We still play with it, but it is not fully functional.
The barn yard toy is way too hard to push for any baby under 12 months. I have already exchanged this product. It's simply way too hard for their attention span.
This was one of those toys I normally sat down and played with, with my daughter. I bought this toy for its award winning status (multilingual feature also) but there's no way she could have opened those by herself at 1. She's now 2.5, and I'd say the doors have been wore out for about a year! They don't want to stay closed. I hate to say this but Sassy toys have overall dissappointed me.
the knobs and handles are so hard to open and slide, I returned it w/in two hours of buying it.
I ordered this toy online for my son! He is 13 months and has had it for about 6 months now. The buttons are too hard for him to operate himself and then there is a lady's voice that makes all the animal sounds! Not realistic at all. He looses interest in it very quickly and I don't blame him! Not very entertaining, especially not educational!
