we got the shelf for our dvd's . looks nice and well constructed for our needs . came to our home without damage and was easy 2 assemble .
i did the site to store shipping and it took a lil longer then i expected but it was worth the wait. my husband and i put it together within 20 mins maybe even less and its amazing for the price. its not that tall about 4 or 5 ft and there 6 shelves but if you are usin it for dvds its only 4 shelves but you can play around with the holes and use 5 shelves including the bottom.. we did every 7th hole and got 5 sheleves which is pefect for dvds. i would def reccomend this to anyone and everyone who wants a cheap but rlly good product for cds dvds games anything
Ive bought this shelf from wal mart over two years ago. Its held up pretty well with 3 kids 2 cats and a move from one house to the other. I had expected to see a few chips off of it by now but nope still in excellent conditionl. I plan to buy the next sheft up thats bigger from the same company soon. seeing as how my dvd collection has out grown it. 2 thumbs up =)
This is a great shelf for storage. We currently only use ours to hold our massive dvd collection. Originally, I only bought two. Since then, I have purchased an additional four more. It is sleek and stylish, and it is the perfect size for holding dvds. I usually only use four of the shelves, but it actually comes with a few more. You can modify the height of each of the shelves to store a variety of different things. The instructions were easy to understand, and we had no problems putting any of the units together. This is a must buy for someone looking for a nice-looking, cheap storage unit.
This is my first purchase through the site-to-store. When I got my confirmation email I was a little disappointed to find it may take up to two weeks! But, a few days later when I checked the "tracker" it turned out my purchase was scheduled to be at the store just over one week from when I submitted my purchase. (Purchaed April 28th, could pick up May 5th) Once I received my email to pick it up I did so. It was nicely packaged with cardboard on all edges for protection and wrapped in heavy saran wrap. Following the directions to put it together was really easy! All you needed was a hammer and screw driver. The only thing I didn't like was the back looked like it may have been cut about 1/2" too much; also the back piece is really thin so there's not much support. So I cut a piece of wood and put it on the back of the back piece; and it works great! I use my shelf for only DVD's; it will fit five shelves nicely!
Is sturdy, important w/ my kids around! Looks much better than I expected for the price & holds a number of cd's/ dvd's. It was easy to assemble & I am in awe at how nice it looks for such a reasonable price. I would say this is one of the better buys I have made!
First I'll remind you of the dimensions: 49.5" heighth x 19.5" width x 9.5" depth. In other words, approximately 4 feet tall, 1.5 feet wide and about as deep as an average person's shoe length. For those who may complain abouth the scale, remember, this is not a standard bookcase! The scale of this product however is perfect for its designed use: holding your dvd collection and any cd's you haven't gotten rid of in the age of mp3's. I have also found it perfect for holding paperback books without wasted space! A standard bookcase would allow you to stack 2 deep and still have gaps between shelves, wasting space and making finding a particular book impossible. If you're anything like me you don't have enough storage or space for multiple bookcases. This unit is shallow enough to fit along an average hallway wall without taking away from needed walkspace. I have 4 in a row and even with my considerable size they do not cause a trip hazard. The look of the unit is NOT standard issue cheap particleboard. It looks quite nice and several friends have since purchased one or more themselves to put in their hallways and use that otherwise wasted space for organization. I have only 1 complaint: the unit is designed to be assembled in 2 seperate sections (top and bottom) joined together; because of this instead of having 6 shelves tall enough to hold upright DVD's, in each section only 2 can be used this way with the remaining shelf too short and therefore only able to hold DVD's laying down. An extra half inch in each section would make all the difference, but without that tiny bit more space your DVD case will not fit no matter how you arrange the shelves. This is a small price to pay for the versatility and appearance of this incredibly priced item!
Sauder Audio/Video Storage tower, for the price, is the best choice you could make. The hardware, pre-drilling, exterior is perfect. I put this unit togeather in under a half hour. Everything was in the package..not short a single screw. All that was required was a screwdriver and a hammer. And once togeather the unit looks great..especially in the high gloss black. This is my 4th Sauder tower. They actually hold many more DVDs then they claim..which was a plus. With Sauder..you can't go wrong. And easy on the wallet.
After getting this product and assembling it no matter how you arrange the shelves it is impossible to put 200+ DVD's on this shelf 80 to 100 if you lay several on there side and cram pack the others. Waws it a good buy yes for the most part. Looks prety nice and serves it's purpose, but as for the amount it holds I would say grossly over exagerated.
For the money this is an excellent product. After looking on Amazon for something cheap to hold my dvds and games I found this. Shipping time is a little long in my opinion compared to some other sites. No damage to my packing material. Went together in about 10min. I liked this so much I just ordered another one!
