we got this because we needed something inexpensive and quick. Found this while shearching the net for computer desks. It was delivered a day before promissed. Went together easily, and is a perfect fit for a simple desk. I love it. we did not pay for shipping we used ship to store. What a great bonus. quick and easy. will recommend
I was surprised to see this Sauder Sugar Creek model is still available. I purchased mine nearly 10 years ago, put it together myself, and it is still standing. The finish on the edge is finally beginning to show minor signs of aging and is definitely fading under the computer mouse (the kids lost the mousepad), but the desk has survived multiple moves and overall still looks great. I paid $89, and it's been worth every penny.
I love that this computer hutch desk is so compact and looks so neat. I mean "neat" as in compact and balanced. In other words, its dimensions are pleasing to the eye. It's not as large (or sprawling) as computer desks I've had in the past, but that has forced me to trim down the amount of stuff I put on my desk. This decrease in clutter has helped my concentration. The wood is pressed board, not particle board. That makes for a heavier, sturdier product. It also makes for more in shipping costs (nearly $70!). It took my son about three hours to put the desk together. The quality of the construction of the desk is good and not cheap looking. All in all, for a modestly priced desk, this one is excellent value. Good luck with it.
This product is perfect for a small office in your home. the quality is good. the wood looks really nice. Just make sure you have a flat screen monitor or you will not have enough room on the desk. a big monitor will fit but it sticks out too much in the front.
This desk is perfect for my needs. All pieces were there and undamaged. Instructions to put it together were fairly simple for the most part. The only thing I was a little unhappy about was the "back board". It looks fine but you have to cut holes in it (it's heavy cardboard) to put the cords through. It should be scored for these holes to avoid a sloppy unfinished look after cutting out the spaces you need. I am very happy with the finished look, the sturdiness and functionality.
This computer desk is fantastic. Its a space saver if you dont have much space to work with and its a great desk for the price. We had to make space for a new baby and get rid of our HUGE computer desk we had and this one was perfect. The only downside is that not all the parts were marked with their letters of which part was what so you had to guess which part went where. And also the wood is made cheap so you have to be careful picking it back up after its built so the wood does not break like ours did. And also the backboard was about an inch too small for the desk and it didnt come with enough nails.
When I did get it home and started to build it, one of the pieces to the keyboard rail was broken. I had to super glue it together since I already had all the pieces out. But will be calling the company for a replacement part in case the glue doesn't hold up.
The desk was shipped very quickly and it seems to be a sturdy piece of furniture. It is a good value for the desk itself but I wish it had been offered at the store for pick up as it is fairly expensive to ship ($70). This is more than 1/2 the price you pay for it. It was relatively easy to assemble but a little time consuming. It took me 2 hours. I recommend a drill or electric screw driver for assembly - it would go much faster. Overall, I was very pleased with the product as is the person to whom I gave it as a gift.
The cabinet to store my tower is not deep enough, either have to keep the door open or as I have done, pushed it through the back. The tray for the keyboard is not comfortable.
Been looking for a computor desk for two months and finally found this one. ordered on line and was shipped very fast, but the major problem was when I got it home and top desk piece was broken and when I called the store i was told to bring it back, so I had to put all the parts back into box and cart it back to the store. I was looking forward to using this desk, but now am very disapointed and will not reorder it agian as maybe the next one will be the same.
