Explanatory book written moderately easy. Kids were super excited and wished Santa brought a second kit.
We've tried out a few experiments with this. The tornado was very cool. The volcano was fun but not as explosive as my son expected. Overall, for the science kid, it is worth the money.
Overall, it was okay. We got this for our son's 9th birthday since he is super into all things science. After looking at what was in it, we were excited to get into it and see what we could do- but we were a bit disappointed. The "tsunami" experiment was pretty bland and not that exciting- however for a younger child, it may be awesome. I think this would be more for preschool or kindergarten age kids (with supervisions and help) and less for older children.
