I don't know how I would have done it without this kit. The new radio had 14 or so wires that had to be connected into my wiring harness in the dash. The kit was made up of three connectors (only used one) and 14 or so wires connected to the connector. The wires were stripped on the ends and color coded to perfectly match the wires connected to the new radio harness. All I had to do was carefully solder the right colors together. I used shrink tubing to insulate the connections. Once finished, I had a single harness that plugged into the radio at one end and plugged into a connector in the dash at the other end. The only advice I can give is to be very careful with the color codes on the wires. I would use a very good light when connecting them. I suppose you could crimp the wires instead of soldering, but I chose to solder. Once installed, the radio worked perfectly.
The proper wiring kit for my 1997 Pleasureway Class B RV conversion 3500 Dodge Ram Van.
Took time to examine all wires and looked very close at how they were marked. Some wires have black lines. Two wires I didn't need (elect. antanna# so I didn't do anything with them. Butt spliced other wires #15 min. at the most) and plugged in the radio and it worked just fine.
Fit fine.
Installed in a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Worked good for about an hour,then the radio shut down.Checked the connections I made to the harness, all checked.Stereo would go on,off,on,off ect. Started checking deeper and found the power wire on the spare plug was bad and any vibration would disconnect the power. Replaced with one from autozone and no problems at all.Add a couple of dollars and save the head ache.
You sent me a harness that fit my vehicle but was wired incorrectly and messed up my wireing and blew fuses. I had to orser the right one from a diffrent carrier and after replacing fuses and a reran wire my stereo works. But now im havin serious electrical issues.im not sure if the wal mart harness did it or not but I do no I had no problems before now and my fan sensor went out and my truck overheats now and im having to replace it and check the wireing. Becareful of good values sometimes
this harness will not work with 97 dodge ram with infinity sound system, blew fuse, caused radio to over heat, speakers were wired for built on amps, harness doesn't account for that, had to toss old speakers and rewire for new speakers, infinity harness is not compatible with this adapter. rewired with new speaker wire cut off and disabled infinity harness, works great now, adapter also didn't plug in tightly to factory harness very lose, just not a good product , save money just rewire its easier and faster.
