I bought this a few weeks ago thinking I would hate it. I have a 6 month old and wanted to clean with something other than bleach - which I have always sworn by. I have absolutely fallen in love with Seventh Generation products. Before trying I told my friend I "wouldn't jump on the bandwagon" but I am so glad I did!
Seventh Generation works and is safe in all the ways you want it to be. This is the second case of 8 quart bottles we have bought. Consider that, total cost is just over 5 dollars a bottle. Each bottle is 32oz, ready to go, no mixing, no switching plain cap for sprayer. This stuff has eliminated 5-6 other kinds of cleaners in our house, doing as good, usually a better job. So why spend 4 to 10 dollars (or even more) a bottle/can/package on focused cleaners that may or may not work, as well as likely will be caustically dangerous, usually lethal to pets and damaging to contacted surfaces and fabrics? By the way, no one in my family works for this or any connected company, or are we being compensated in any way.
I purchased this a few weeks ago. We have a litter of new puppies and can't use chemicals with harsh odors. This cleaner is amazing. No odor whatsoever and it cleans up virtually anything. I accidentally cut my hand and got blood allover a pair of khaki pants. The blood had dried before I got around to cleaning them. This was the first cleaner I saw in my cabinet and I decided to try it. I was stunned, every bit of the blood came right out, just a spray of this and a damp cloth. I am also using it in the kennel area. No odor or urine or feces remains after cleaning. My clients notice it too when they come to pick out a puppy. Amazing product - don't ever stop making it.
This is the one product I keep buying again and again. Without having to worry about harmful chemicals, I can use it almost anyplace. I've had a bottle of this under my sink to use on kitchen surfaces. The real test came when my dog got sick and had to do "her business" on the living room carpet. Without getting graphic it was not the kind of business you can just pick up. I found myself without my usual carpet cleaner. I used the Seventh Generation multipurpose cleaner on several areas and there was absolutely no stain! I thought for sure I would have to go to store and get carpet scrubber. But nope. No sign that anything happened. It's truly multipurpose and so nice to know it's chemical free.
I rented an apartment with off-white carpets for a year. Worried about losing part of the security deposit, I had a contest for which household spray (even the toxic ones) could best keep stains away when I spilled food or the cat puked. 7th Gen All Purpose was the winner.
Couldn't recommend this enough. Safe around my dog, but a very powerful cleaner.
Love the product and eco-friendly attributes. I completely agree with the other reviewer, looking for a large size container and the ability to dispense from larger container itself and to refill a spray bottle. I will keep searching online to see if I can find a large container. Also, I will try to pop off the sprayer top (as it does not unscrew) to see if I can at least use it for another liquid.
I have bought and used several bottles of this cleaner as well as several other Seventh Generation products, all of which I think are wonderful. My only complaint, and its a major one for me, is the bottles only come in one size. Please please sell a gallon size also, and make the spray attachment easy to remove for refilling. I'm tired of buying and throwing out all these spray bottles! Also a concentrate gallon size would allow those of us who prefer it to use a bucket and sponge-it's a lot easier on the hands than repetitive spraying. I have ended up forcing the top off and pouring the whole thing into another container just to void spraying. Further more - no matter how "safe" - who wants to breath in the particles in the spray?
I have been using 7th generation for over 20 years… i love every product, and their free and clear are always perfectly scent free… the new bottles are awful. I have to recycle them after every use -you cannot reuse them personally for anything else, and i am always riddled with guilt as a throw yet another particle of plastic in the recycle bin. Possibly come up with a container that stands behind the product that is in them, those of us who use 7th generation products actually do CARE about the next 7 generation
