I am SO impressed with the GS300 Shark Garment Stand Steamer! In fact, MY HUSBAND is impressed with this steamer!:) It is very versatile in that you can pull it around on the wheeled stand, detach and carry the steamer by hand, or lower the telescoping pole and use at the table. I have used a handheld steaming device and was not impressed at all as it still left wrinkles and would leave water stains from water spitting out. The Shark Garment Stand Steamer blows that old handheld out of the water!!! Take a look at the pictures I provided. From time of plug in to finished product it took less than 3-4 mins. That includes the ONE MINUTE warm up of the water. I hate ironing and my poor husband has had to put up with "dryer" ironing.:) Using the stand steamer is soooo much more convenient there is no messing with a heavy ironing board! I love that you can refill the tank during use. There is nothing worse than having to stop steaming and wait for the steamer to cool down to add more water!!ugh! The tank is big enough that it lasts about 50 minutes of CONTINUAL use. Another thing I love is that I can use this to help eliminate dust mites. I can use this on our pillows and mattresses to freshen and kill those mites! AWESOME! If you have a lot of dry cleaning this product will definitely save you on that bill. The steamer will freshen and de-wrinkle with ease! Things I didn't like.....There needs to be someplace to clip on the provided accessories. Also, I wish there was a clip on the pole to attach the hose after use. Other than that, this product rates a 10 out of 10. Wow! I love it and would recommend the Shark Garment Stand Steamer to everyone. It is an amazing value. For 10-15$ more than a hand steamer you get something that you can use throughout your entire house.
The Shark Professional Fabric Steamer arrived in a nice thick and heavy brown cardboard box by FedEx. Once the product box was opened all items were wrapped in plastic and arranged very well with a cardboard caddy to prevent damage during shipping. Assembly was extremely easy no tools required, just follow the instruction in the owners manual. The Shark Steamer is lightweight and the telescopic pole makes it easy to steam a garment with the hanger hook and to store the steamer away for future use. It is also portable simply remove the steam unit off the base by pulling the release button, hold the tank close to your body just be careful not to touch the steam nozzle or the metal spring when using they also get hot. This step makes it easy and convenient you can now move it around the house room to room. It also can be taken on a vacation to freshen folded clothing after being in a suitcase. The Steam output is super hot by using the steamer fabric bonnet it gets out the toughest wrinkles without leaving water spots, but still gentle on the fabric. This will also save on taking expensive clothing to the dry cleaners. Since the Shark Steamer gets so hot it also kills bed bugs and eliminates dust mites. This makes it safe to use around children and animals no harsh chemical just hot steam. A full tank of distilled water last about 50 minutes on a contentious use. The Shark Steamer will freshen, remove wrinkles and sanitize most garments (use caution on silks). It could also be used on other textile fabric including microfiber on a sofa, love seat, bedding and drapes. The owners manual recommends not to be used on leather, suede, vinyl or plastic items. Let the unit cool for at least 30 minutes before emptying the left over water in the tank. It would make a great gift. Another great product by Shark.
Now this is what I call a steamer. I've never had a garment steamer before, but wow this Shark steamer is awesome. It works like a charm! To start, there were just about 5 or so pieces to put the steamer together, but I don't think the instructions were great. I was doing pretty well piecing it together until I had to put the end of the metal rod into the base. I was having major issues trying to fit it into the tree shaped plastic piece. I think the directions made more sense than the diagrams did. To sum it up, you need to unscrew that plastic piece then attach the bottom of the metal rod into it then screw it back on. I was just trying to place the rod into it without taking it off of the base. Besides that, I managed to put it together fairly quickly and wow does it work. It comes with a funnel in order to pour water into the small opening. This makes things much less messy. I pretty much love everything about this. I love how you can use it in its stand and that you can make it portable. I haven't tried it in the stand yet, but I did try it in portable mode. Also the rolling base is actually a little heavy, so it's very nice it rolls easily. Also, FYI, the black fabric over the bottom of the hose is zip tied on but it's supposed to stay on. I cut the zip ties off, which I'm assuming I was supposed to, then I almost cut the black fabric off but I saw it in the picture on the box. It's covering some metal rings. To see how well it worked I hung up a garment, filled the base with tap water, and started steaming it in an up and down motion, never leaving the steam in one spot. I chose a fabric that wrinkles very easily. The tag states it is 100% rayon contrast, 100% polyester lining, and 100% polyester. See the before and after pictures for the great results. This steamer worked its magic so fast I was so amazed. I had to look back at my before picture to even remember how bad it was. If you are looking for a great garment steamer, this has got to be it.
I received the Shark Professional Fabric Steamer from the Spark Reviewer Program without any cost to me. It is a very nice steamer that lets you steam for up to fifty minutes. The box states that it can kill dust mites and bed bugs. Good to know! It heats up fast and be sure to keep your hands in the right places as noted on the box. Not on the hose. The wheels are nice for the water tank; however, you can remove it from the stand and carry it around for furniture or curtains. I really have enjoyed all the things that can be done with it. If you have very hard water you may want to use distilled water to prolong the life of this product. Also, three year warranty.
This steamer is great.. It needs a bit of putting together but it is simple and takes no time at all. The steamer comes with an instruction manual and warranty information. I attached a picture of a shirt steamed on the left side for reference on how well it works. It really does a great job. There are no knobs to change heat settings. The cord and nozzle gets really hot when the steamer is on, so be careful. The water container holds about 4.5 ounces in my estimation as opposed to the 5 ounces the manual claims. The rod height adjusts up and down to your comfort. The brush at the end of the steam nozzle is useful as it brushes away the lint on clothing even as it steams away the wrinkles. Not too many swipes to iron out wrinkles due to the heat intensity. Some water is deposited unto clothing, but it is not excessive. Great addition to your linen closet. Portable, on wheels. Plugs into wall. The water container lasts hours before it is all used up. I steamed an entire week's worth of clothing for two people before the water ran out. This is a convenient, easy to use Shark Garment Stand Steamer. To provide this review I steamed two dresses, two skirts, a pair of slacks, two blouses, a scarf, and two jeans. Yes, it steams heavy weight fabrics like jeans too. I was also pleasantly surprised that I can do my curtains while hanging from the window, no need to remove them from the windows. It is all possible due to the convenient portable canister. I read the instructions on the box flaps and it explains how the stand mode and portable modes work. However, there is a helpful owners guide for setup. The steaming unit is small and slim. Easy setup, with an adjustable height stand, does not requiere a lot of storage space and it works well. I love using it because it easily gets the job done. However, I do recommend you read the important owners guide warnings, for example, do not touch the steam nozzle when on, water cap must be secure or it will not emit steam, etc. I have used other steamers and this model works well. I do recommend it, I love it. Once again, you can trust another well built, easy to use Sharp product.
I really like the steamer. It's a great tool for wrinkles if you don't want to iron, or can't use the iron on the clothing. I used it on a couple of dresses that said "Do Not Iron", and it worked perfectly. It's simple to use too. I thought it would be bigger, but it's about the size of a hand vac. It's on wheels too, so you can use it anywhere. I like that it comes with it's own hang up bar. So you can do one piece of clothing at a time. Also the handle where the steam comes out has bristles on it. So the bristles can get stuff like dog hair off of it too. I really do like it.
This is my new toy!!I'm always preparing my family for the week which includes ironing or taking clothes to the cleaners. I've seen these on infomercials but never really thought it works. IT REALLY WORKS!! What was I thinking?! This is something I needed long time ago...lol. It looks like I took it to the cleaners. Very easy set-up and just add tap water and watch the majic happen. It didn't even take long. Very time consuming. The Shark Garment Steamer GS300 just saved me alot of trips and money!
This was my first time using a clothing steamer and I have to say that steaming your clothes is much better than ironing! Haha I made sure I used the distilled water inside the tank and i made sure all the parts were connected and put together correctly. I offered to let my daughter's preschool teacher use this steamer to steam their graduation gowns for their graduation ceremony but my daughter's preschool teacher was like me and had never used one before. So I decided to do it and I found that once the steamer in plugged in and turned on you just need to wait a little bit about a minute or so and let the water heat up and start steami. Once you see a good amount of steam coming through then you can hang the garment and place the steam head under the clothes and pull towards you in a downward motion which was easiest for me. Thankfully the shark steamer has a telescopic pile that has a hook on the end to hang your garment and it goes pretty tall up for longer garments. It took me a few tries to the hang of it and find my rhythm but once I did I liked it better than trying to iron out the wrinkles! And the steam helps with smells and bringing the freshness back. I do like this shark steamer I wish I had others to compare it too, it felt like it was a little while before it was ready to use but I'm sure that's with all steamers. I did notice if the hose wasn't connected right the steam wouldn't stay steaming it would steam and then stop but that was me fault when I would take the water tank off I would move the hose around. But I do like this better than ironing and I would recommend and it's light weight and easy to move around on its wheels which is fantastic!
I was pleasantly surprised at how well this garment steamer got the wrinkles out. I generally prefer to iron most fabrics, but the Shark steamer made the job much easier. Although, I would probably only use this steamer mainly for steaming drapes, pillows, couches, etc. The steamer comes on a roll around detachable base with an adjustable pole and hook to hold your garment whilst dewrinkling your fabrics. The long hose that is attached makes steaming and refreshing your curtains a breeze. And because the base is detachable, the steamer becomes portable, thus more freedom to move about while refreshing the heck out of your stuff. To be honest, I was intimidated by the steamer, at first, because of the size, and the fact that I had never used a steamer of this capacity. But once I got the hang of it and the steam was rolling, then it was smooth sailing. It made me want to steam the whole dang house and its contents; I still might do this. It is claimed that this steamer can kill bed bugs. Now, I don't know if this statement is true or not, but the fact that I can steam my mattress with it and extend the "life" of the mattress a little, makes the purchase worth it. I wished I had gotten one sooner. Overall, I would recommend this product.
