We purchased this to cover our new RV. The set up was simple but took time because of how large the tent is. The price was about half other places. We love it.
This is a high quality product, exactly what we were looking for and works great for our RV. But OMG, putting it together with anything less than an army can be difficult, plus dont try in hot sun, I burned my hands bad. I know it needs to fit snug and I am now happy it does, now that I am done. My friend plans on buying one after he has seen ours complete, thats great, just dont ask for my help putting it up. 4-5 hours my rear.
This canopy is very difficult to assemble because the holes in the poles were punched. The punching of the holes left indentations on the insides which disallow insertion of the next pole. Holes need to be reamed with a drill, protrusions need to be hammered down. Some weld joints inside pipes are very thick, creating a protrusion, disallowing pipe insertion. Ends of pipes need to be dented to allow insertion which often requires repeated blows with rubber mallet after doctoring both pipes to allow fit. There is little doubt in my mind that the tent will go together, but assembly is a time-consuming work out.
I bout this for my motorhome. It has only been up a year and a half, yesterday it has ripped all down the middle on top. A total waste of money. I suggest either invest in a metal sided, or the heavy duty cover, as I just wasted over 3k and $1500. to put the unit up. so total over $4500. and it was put up in an area away from wind. You would do much better to invest in something better
The canopy ripped at the peak within the first 10 months of ownership, we had the canopy cover replaced under warranty by Shelter Logic. The second cover started to fail in the same location again after 7 months. I sent a second request to shelter logic who offered no additional assistance other than, I could purchase a more durable cover at additional cost since my original warranty was up. I am realistic that living in Arizona these types of covers do not last long, however, I would expect it to last at least a year. In addition, if upgrading was an option, I would have been willing to pay for an upgrade at the time of warranty replacement. At the time of the first warranty replacement I did call and tell them that the area of failure was at the point that gets the most mid-day sun and asked if I could put a coating on the cover and was informed their tops were already coated for protection against the sun and to not put any type of coatings on the canopy.
