I have a small space & make waste for one person, I wanted something that collected both waste & recycle,neatly & out of sight, and this did all that. I'm very pleased with my purchase & I love the custom bags too.
The 40L dual compartment butterfly can is everything I needed. It definitely fits in small kitchens. The design is perfect for out of the way spaces. The butterfly opening is brilliant. Stainless steel finish is elegant. Two things would make it ten stars- no touch opening and labels for trash and recycling I'm being greedy now. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAN!
This is the third trash bin I have purchased and I cannot sing their praises enough. I needed to get this one to fit in a very specific spot and I love it!
We are downsizing into a retirement apartment and still wanted to recycle. This bin is perfect to safe space and facilitate our project.
I wanted to get a trash can that can accommodate recycling but not get multiple trash can. This was a nice concept and it'll work but I a few cons for anyone that is considering this trash can. I own a butterfly trash can and really love it so I decided to get this. Here are a few cons: 1. the inside trash is not very spacious - almost square but tall. Limits the size of recycling and trash items 2. lid of the butterfly top doesn't close tightly (opens slightly) and seems very light and not durable. My old butterfly was heavier and closes well. 3. It's big so will stick out depending on where you plan to put the trash can Pros: 1. Accommodate both trash cans and recycling 2. Seems to need unique trash bag for the square like trash can but I was able to use a normal kitchen trash bag, just make sure it's deep enough 3. Quiet opening and closer 4. No fingerprints left behind 5. Tall
I hesitated about spending so much on a trash can and worried that it would not be large enough. Now I'm glad I bought it. This design is sleek and compact; it fits perfectly next to our island. Having the dual compartments for recycling and trash makes separating our waste easier. We seem to recycle much more of our waste since the recycling compartment is right at our fingertips. My only recommendation is to add a holder for replacement liners. There's a hole in the back to retrieve the liners but no built in compartment for liner package. Overall excellent purchase!
Watch our for the wing lid tip points... when open they can easily puncture a child's eye or take a piece out of your fingers, hand, or leg if brushed by them... it happened to me. Had to go to urgent care to stop the bleeding. I'm exchanging for a different Simple Human trash can.
I love the can, but so disappointed when they arrived with big dent. So I returned and ordered the other one (still waiting for refund), since I really need a trash can. To my further disappointment, same dent happened to the 2nd order but less severe… I don't want any more hassle to return, accepted this as the quality of the product and no control whatsoever…. I don't think I would take a risk to purchase from this brand anymore…(beautiful design and marketing, but, product has no control in quality, how could I buy something with constant defect…don't even think about 10 year warranty…)
This is ridiculously small for this price. The outside looks nice but containers inside are so small and need to be set inside exactly right or the top won't close correctly. Sucks that there are so many biased reviews on this site... I have no idea how taking out trash/recycling so often with this tiny thing at such a high price is rated highly!
The product came damaged on plastic parts. And the hustle of exchanging is really bothersome, you gotta go to post office to drop the huge box off. Should've ordered on amazon at least the UPS picks it up if you want to exchange it.
