I am very happy with this product. I was looking for a heat press to do iron on transfers and I came across this press and decided to try it. I am glad that I did because this press works better that the commercial grade heat presses.
This is my second Simplicity Quick Press! The only reason I put four stars for the durability is because my last one lasted only four years and I was hoping it would last a little longer, as I have read how others lasted up to 15 years!!! But this is a great press and has saved me mega bucks from going to the cleaners!! I highly recommend it! Thanks Simplicity!
I purchased this press for using in an industrial sewing environment. We have been using it for 3 weeks and it has been great! It doesn't have the steam feature, but I didn't want that anyway. This is 10% of the cost of an industrial press, but so far it has worked very well. I wish it had more safety features, but for the price, I wouldn't expect that.
After my 15 year old Singer press died, I needed a new one. I mostly do quilting and sewing as well as iron my husband's shirt, pants, hankies, etc. The steam feature had not been working for years on the old Singer, and I much preferred the spray bottle to the steam anyway. This press is awesome! It heats much faster than the old press. It is just a bit smaller. I love the no-stick iron bed also. The bed cover is also non-stick and it does get very hot so the press does iron from both sides. I am not sure that I will keep this cover on all the time as I do prefer a muslin type of cover, but for now, I am still using it. I have only had the press a short while so can't speak to longevity, but if it lasts as well as it currently performs, I will be thrilled. One note of warning: the first time you turn the press on, it pops, snaps, and makes a lot of noise that sounds ominous; however, after that initial heat up phase, the noise goes away and it works like a charm. All in all, this press has not got a lot of bells and whistles, but I didn't need them as I have a method for what I do that does not require laser technology. If you love digital with all its buttons etc., you might be disappointed with this straight forward appliance. Site to store worked like a charm and I was able to track the package every step of the way. All in all, this press and the Wal-Mart experience was just great and I will do business like this again.
Hello: When my huge Singer press broke after 5 years I was beside myself. I am a crafter and rely on the press irons for anything from tye dying, embelished shirts, ironing out wrinkles in craft parts that come pre pkg, to other thing way to much to go on. I thought I would order this unit but thought it would never be able to be 1/2 as good as my old Singer....Folks to my amazement this machine IT IS WAY BETTER. It offers so much more, besides the great ironing job especially when you spray the item with water first with the included bottle. other possitive features are such as a bell that goes off when your item has reached its done stage (this avoids burning if you choose the right settingfor the item),this is a smaller unit which takes up less space but don't be fooled it has the power of the bigger models, and best of all....It makes aloud noise if you forget to unplug it and will continue with this noise until you do unplug it....I would give this machine a SUPERIOR rating
This press is great. It does not offer steam but still a great press. I've owned 2 others in the past, this is just as great as they were and I paid much more for the two from Phaff. However, Walmart.com site to store shipping is the slowest of all websites. It took 18 days to receive this press!
Like the size. Bigger than others on the market, but still very portable. Makes some popping and clicking noise while it is heating up, but was told this is normal when heating elements expand and contract. Makes quick work of pressing projects. It's a keeper.
Not bad, but not great. I don't save quite as much time as I would have liked while ironing, but I'm going to keep using it. Irons well.
I was sick of paying high prices at the cleaners for pressing clothes and I was tired of using a regular hand held iron. I bought this and it has been great. No more spending a couple of hours ironing or shelling extra money at the cleaners. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star, it was a little smaller than I had hoped for. Other than that, this was a good buy.
This is my second. My first lasted about 5 years. It works as advertised. I like it because it contains no water and I have very hard water which inevitably clogs holes in irons. It meets my needs. I use it every week on all of my work clothes.
