I am so excited to have my new Singer Sewing Confidence. This machine is worth the money, great value. It sews quietly and professional stitches. I love the needle threader, makes it easy and convient. I would recommend this Singer to an advance seamstresses...
I recently had to send my 39 year old singer touch and sew to the repair shop.I decided to treat myself to a new machine. I was concerned about price and quality and performance.I narrowed it done to the 7470 confidence. When it came i was worried that it wouldn't work for what i use a machine for. Great surprise it worked great.I made two dog beds with it. It went over the three ply fleece without any trouble. It is a very good machine.Lightweight and easy to use. It took me awhile to get use to threading the bobbin on the top. My old one did it under the foot feed. I would recommend this machine to all. The price was not that expensive either.
Looked at a few machines and reviews this machine came out tops everything, so I purchased one. It is more than I expected.simple to use, lots of fantastic built in stitches. Looking forward to using this machine for my projects. Cannot find any faults. Soooo glad this is the machine I purchased.
Love the machine
I got this machine for Christmas and I love it! The only sewing I have ever done was in high school so I wanted a nice machine but not too complicated. This machine is perfect! I love that it is computerized. It makes switching stitch patterns so simple! This machine was not hard at all to figure out. The manual is very good. I love the auto threader!!! I have seen where some people thought it was complicated....I watched a youtube video the first time I threaded the machine and they showed you how to use the auto threader, very simple!! http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=how+to+thread+singer&FORM=VIRE8#view=detail&mid=5BC289F17270A68740265BC289F17270A6874026 I have so far hemmed 5 pair of jeans and fixing to start a blanket (have also practiced a lot). I really enjoy this sewing machine!
I bought my Singer 7470 December of 2009. I have no problems with this machine. It runs smoothly, it is quiet. Along with the variety of stitches, you have a choice of reverse image, twin needle. It allows you to change the stitch width and the stitch length of each stitches. It comes with the Alphabets, numbers 0 through 9, commas, quotation marks, etc. You have a choice needle and down which is great especially when you are quilting. There is a dial that lightens or darkens the display screen. It has a button called the infinity stitch you can use on the specialty stitches. It gives you a choice of stitching just one of the specialty stitch such as the puppy dog or allows you to do a whole role of puppy dogs. It's ease of use, multiple choice of stitches, variety of button holes to choose from makes this a Great Machine for a Good Price. I have my machine for little over 3 years now and No Problems. My Singer 7470 will last me for the next 25 years of Great Enjoyable Sewing.
Although I purchased this in 2008, I didn't start using it until 2013. I don't know why I waited, as it truly is an easy machine to use. Although there are a lot of stitches and functions, there aren't too many to make me overwhelmed. I've been taking weekly sewing classes since summer 2013 and I'm even working on my first quilt, a TShirt quilt that is 82 x 90 and this machine handles it all. Sometimes I get a little frustrated at tension issues, but I'm sure it is more about me than about the machine.
My wife loves it but would have liked the lettering to be larger.
I am currently on my second project with the new Singer. Singer is a dependable product. I had no problems with it making a quilted tote bag. Now I am making a silk blouse. I am having problems with the bobbin thread knotting. I have adjusted the tension as recommended, no luck. I know I have to keep working with it and learn the machine more. It is going to be a great little machine for basic sewing once I get to know it better. Love the fact that it has 25 year warranty. I just used up my Husqvarna of 15 years. I came back to my old faithful Singer for the dependabality reason. I would prefer the ability to adjust the pressure foot pressure when sewing with lighter fabric. I haven't tried the other stitches yet, but am anxious to do many more projects on it.
I bought this machine when price was much higher from a different merchant. First big project machine lost timing and required service. Now, it's not 5 years old and Singer Rep says return to factory. Major gear broke when winding a bobbin.
