Still have some to learn on this but it is a wonderful machine
Purchased for my mother she had the exact same machine but something went wrong and she couldn't find anyone to repair it so she wanted another one great machine does a lot
I got my new Singer about 2 weeks ago and I love it. This machine, for the price, does everything my expensive Janome does. It runs very quiet, has a very nice stitch and it is very easy to understand. It comes with a lot of attachments and includes a Manual. You also can go on line to read or download the manual for this machine. I love the thread trimmer, it saves a lot of time and thread, and also the handy threader. I have other sewing machine, Janome's and Singer's, both are good quality sewing machine's. I would recommend this machine, for the price and quality, this machine does it all.
Easy to use. Has so many different stitches to choose from. My 10 year old can embroid her own name. Perfect for making face masks.
If you are experienced or really strive to get to that level this is your machine. It sews like a dream. Over 900 stitches and 6 fonts. Sews quiet and stitch quality can't be beat unless you are buying a machine for twice as much. I can't say anymore than I am in love.
I love this machine--love the automatic needle threader works great-- so fair everything on this machine is wonderful -looked at videos from youtube to get the hang of it-- can not wait to do more with this machine but so far great machine and yes would recommend --I am very pleased with this purchase
After looking at this machine for 2 years, my 30 plus year old Singer stopped working requiring me to find a replacement. I do a lot of charity sewing and some for the Grandkids. I love the idea of being able to cut the threads without ever picking up my scissors. The ease of replacing the bobbin and the needle threader. Have been trying out all the presser feet and seeing what I have been missing. I have already talked this machine up to anyone who asked/ didn't ask. The only issues are the ones I created.
I got a 9985 so I could retire my 1960's era straight stitch only machine. I am extremely impressed with the 9985's touch screen and embroidery style stitches. The overlocking stitches are a big improvement over my prior machine. I originally planned on getting a 9960 with the buttons, but they were out of stock due to COVID. I'm glad I went for the 9985 upgrade. My family's COVID masks look great. Our holiday costumes and home decor will get a big step up.
If you're not to familiar with newer machines, it can be a little challenging at time. The end results are worth it in the end. I would have given it 5 stars if the manual had a bit more info on working some things and or if you could find more online and video references for this particular machine. They have more info on other models but I'm still happy with my purchase.
Automatic cutting system in the 9985 and the latest 9960 does not work at all. It's a known big flaw on this machines. Unfortunately after I bought it, I came to know about this issue. The dealerships know about it and still they keep on selling it. The machine is unworkable, it keeps on jamming no matter what type of fabrics you try with.
