This is a great car seat for anyone needing a car seat. my son i s 7 months old and it is easy for me to get him in and out of it. it fits great in my mini SUV and is a wonderful space saver. i tell everyone about this product. if you are reading this i am telling you this is the car seat to buy. it is well worth the money.

The best car seat

Car seat safety is something I'm very passionate about. I researched car seats for months before deciding to buy the Radian80. The price shocked me at first but when it comes to my child's safety, money can't be an issue. It was very important for me to find a car seat that allowed me to keep my son rear facing as long as possible and then in a 5-point harness as long as possible. There are only 2 car seats available that allow you to keep your child in a 5-point harness up to 80 lbs. What makes the Radian80 better than the Britax Regent is that the Radian80 is made out of steel and it is slimmer. You can fit 3 Radian80s in a normal backseat...very important to someone who will have several kids in car seats at once. It was also very easy to install. My son hated his infant carrier car seat but loves the Radian80. We will be buying another for our second child due in April and use it from day one. We'll skip over the infant car seat as the Radian80 is the only car seat you will ever need.

Very Satisfied!

We bought this for my daughter turning 1. It's wonderful, I love the cushioning, and that it is narrow-an adult can fit comfortable next to it in the back of a sedan-unlike an infant seat. She sleeps comfortably and can see out. MOST importantly, she's safe, the car seat, attached w/ latch system, is VERY secure, NO wiggles. We are flying so I like how it folds easy for use-recommend the Radian carry bag for travel, unfortunately not sold here. Negatives: time consuming to set up, heavy (but we don't move it very often, so it's not bad, glad it's safe) and instructions a little confusing on one part. Durability-I don't know, but I expect it to be the only/last car seat we'll need for her-so 7 more years- as it goes up to 80 pounds in a 5 point harness-SO hard to find!

Love this carseat!!

This was the easiest car seat that I have ever installed (I have 3 kids and have installed a lot!) I bought this because the harness holds up to 80 pounds and I want my little ones to be as safe as possible for as long as possible. I only wish the car seats that hold up to 80 pounds didn't have to be so expensive. It's worth it, though. Overall, great carseat.

I was a little sticker shocked when I did my research. After reading every review I could find about this carseat, I decided to purchase it. It's a little on the heavy side, but with that I know it's going to hold-up in an accident. The seat is very narrow on the outside, yet roomy enough for a chubby baby on the inside. I have found 2 cons with this seat, the first is the weight of it, however since it stays in the vehicle and isn't removed very often, it'll be okay. The second is if needed to face the rear, the angle won't work in smaller vehicles; even in my over-sized SUV, it hit the backs of the front seats.

Love it - but not rear-facing

Purchased this car seat to fly and for second vehicle. Lots of space and fit perfectly in airplane seats - though it was somewhat challenging to fit the airplane seatbelt buckle through the forward-facing attachment holes. Great fit in back seat of Saturn and Kia sedans (smaller cars) with enough room on either side for two adult passengers. Great fit, too, in SUVs and larger sedans. It is heavy, and I would not fly without using the Go-Go Kids travel wheelie (another product sold by another manufacturer that attaches to a car seat and makes it a stroller - exceptional!). Would not recommend for rear-facing as it was cumbersome (and impossible in some instances) for us to secure tightly.

Car Seat is Very Narrow

I loved the safety features on this seat when I researched it before purchase. Unfortunately, the seat is very narrow. My child weighs 40 lbs., and both sides of the seat touched his thighs, even with his legs together. For a long ride, this seat would have been far too confining. The manufacturer's website says that the seat fits children up to 80 lbs., but it would have to be a very narrow 80 lb. child.

Nice and narrow

I bought this car seat for my 5 year old daughter who is small for her age (35 lbs). I wanted a seat with 5 pt restraint for kids up to 80 lbs. The difficult part was finding one to fit into the backseat of my Unlimited Jeep Wrangler. All of the other seats of this kind are huge. I am very happy with the durability of this seat. It is very solid. And, unlike some of the other reviews, we had no problem installing the seat with the tether and seatbelt installation. The seat is very narrow (as advertised) and two medium sized adults can set on either side of it in the back of the 4 door Jeep. The reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it does not have a cup holder and the straps are not padded. I will have to purchase some strap-pads to keep them from rubbing my daughters neck.

Had to return it

We purchased this carseat, but had to return it as we couldn't get it to fit properly in the rear facing position in out Dodge Durango. We called the customer service number provided asking for any help or tips, and were told that a man would call us back, but he never did. It was also missing the toddler pillow it was supposed to come with, but of course it didn't matter after we decided to just return it. It was also very difficult to set up compared to other seats we've had. We decided we liked our daughter's Britax Boulevard much better, and ended up ordering a second one for our son. The one good thing I can say about it though, it seemed very sturdy.

Well, after waiting about one month for this seat to come off of backorder it's NOT all that I had hoped. Bottom line, since installing in my car, my 3 year old has said "Mama I'm not comfortable" each & every time she's been in the car! The width of the seat might be nice for those who have to fit 3 across in a car but doesn't leave much room to grow for my little one.
