This is a review for #Skippy creamy peanut butter. This is an old classic from when I was growing up. I loved it then, I love it now. This peanut butter is my go to food because it's so versatile. I can use it in my smoothies, baking, no bake desserts, to make marinade, and just plain sandwiches for the kids or lunch. Skippy is easy to find in most stores, and very affordable. This taste just like their chunky version but without the peanut bits. It has minimal sweetness and it spreads easily. Personally, I prefer their chunky version, texture wise. But this would be great for those who hate getting peanuts stuck in their teeth. And this version would be great for recipes that require peanut butter, like smoothies. for the first time I saw peanut butter at cinema. upon the first purchase in local shop, the taste was not pleasant to me. and only now my colleague the American from a chevron, brought a small jar of simple peanut butter a skip. and to my son very much it was pleasant to me. another time we purchased two big banks with taste of honey and with peanut pieces.
I am a HUGE Skippy fan. I pretty much own every type in various tastes and textures because...well, I only trust the brand I love best! lol I actually love the taste of Skippy and this creamy peanut is so good. Being a classic and something you'd likely find in every household (unless you are a Jif fan lol) you can't go wrong with a good creamy-based peanut butter. We love this peanut butter! Just wish I could get a larger size! I buy it because we avoid hydrogenated oils but love peanut butter. I have fantasies of making my own and being that all natural mom but reality hits as I look at the clock. I'm grateful for a product that I can feed my kids with out all the extra gunk they don't need. This tastes great and has a great consistency verses other natural peanut butters. I wanted to share a taste of my past with my family and was excited to receive and review the Skippy Peanut Butter line but after just a small teaspoon of the traditional Creamy Peanut Butter, I couldn't seem to get the overwhelming sugary sweet taste to dissipate. Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter brought me back to my childhood the moment we pulled back the fresh seal. The flavor was reminiscent of my childhood but as with most traditional peanut butters, left me surprisingly unsatisfied. We found the Creamy peanut butter to be heavy and dry. All I can think of that to be, is due to the use of the old stand by ingredient: hydrogenated vegetable oil. Which we know now is not good for anyone's health. Plus, Skippy's creamy peanut butter left this fatty coating and artificial feel over our tongue and mouth. With Skippy having this wonderful line of Natural Peanut Butters, I question why they are still making there Creamy and Chunky peanut butter this way, if not for those who just can't seem to part with nostalgia. But, for me and my family we will pass on Skippy's traditional line and head straight for Skippy Natural. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
