My 10yr old loves this drone. He can fly it very easily. My only negative thing to say about it is the battery doesn't last long so we purchased a second one to have while the other is on the charger.
i bought me and my bother this drone for CHRISTMAS 2015 THE ONE I HAD TO RETURN THEN I GOT A OTHER ONE AND IT WORKS. THE DRONE WORKS GREAT I CRASH IT AND IT STILL WORKS GREAT I LOVE IT DRONE ARE SO IN . BATTERY DOES NOT LAST LONG . IT IS A LOT OF FUN FOR ALL AGES . I AM STILL LEANING TO FLY IT . LOT OF FUN . I GOT IT STUCK IN A TREE . THE WIND CARRY IT A WAY BUT I GOT IT BACK . DO NOT FLY IT ON A WIND DAY . DRONE ARE SO IN THIS SEASON OF SUMMER 2016 A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE FLYING DRONES OUTSIDE IN PARKS AND BACKYARDS . MAKES A GREAT GIFT 12 and up.
This is my first time flying a drone. It's fun, and it's not difficult to use for a beginner like myself. The only problem I've experienced so far is that the battery wire is a little loose so one will need to make sure they are properly connected before flying it. This drone would be a good present for a beginner.
This drone is well worth the price. People that are complaing about the wires hanging out where the battery connects into the craft has more than likely never flew or handled a rc vehicle of any type. The Battery it comes with is what it is. Full charge take about 15 - 20 minutes depending on the batteries temperature. Fly time 3 - 5 minutes The best way to beat this is to go find the nearest hobby shop and purchase a 3.7v 600 mAH which cost between two dollars on eBay to $10 an the hobby store. Make sure to have the jst connector. The flying time with the 600mAH is 6 to 10 minute fly time. Over all. I am very happy with this craft. And yes, flying experience does pay off.
I got this while early Christmas shopping for my kids. I got this for my oldest son, because my husband brought him a mini one and that one was broke within a day. So I decided to get him something a little bigger and see if maybe he can handle something like this. I also see that they have the kind that has a camera I did not want to get that one because it is kind of creepy to me to have a child use. I just got him this one here and hope he enjoys.
I have been flying this for four months and have been enjoying it very much. Have run it into trees, walls, ground, and poles with no damage other than one red led not working. Have not found a source for parts on the web. I have not found a replacement battery as yet. Have been able to use a 500mah battery from a helicopter, sticks out a little but works great. The problem is with the connector. The small batteries come with a different connector. Will replace connector on the quad and that will solve that problem.
The drone is actually really fun to play with. It is definitely a teaching drone as there are many other drones in the market that has more sophisticated capabilities. However, if you are looking to fly a drone around the house - this is a pretty good drone to play with. Very light so does minimal damage if hitting objects indoors. Durable enough to withstand the crash landings. Strong enough to make 'fancy' maneuvers and gain some speed. There are two drawbacks to this model. 1) the battery does not last as long as you would like. I believe additional or extra capacity batteries can be purchased. 2) The stunt button does not always work, but when it does it is pretty awesome. Hope this review helps!
The remote comes with 3 modes to give you the ability to advance as you learn to fly. Others have said they are having issues with the exposed wires. but I have found no problems. I've flown it indoors and out for about 2 weeks now, and I have had zero issues with controlling or flying it, even my 6 year old figured it out easily. The only drawback I have had, and this seems to be an issue with a ton of brands, is that the battery flight time is DISMAL! Sky Viper has a FB post that says they are attempting to offer batteries individually, but I don't see that coming any time soon. I ended up going to a local hobby store and found extra batteries, and now I can fly it for about 40 minutes by cycling through the batteries, and that has made this drone worth the time!
I purchased this for my son. There are wires underneath on the outside that if moved just slightly it falls out of the air. So I sent it back and ordered another one. Well, I had the same problem with that one too. In my opinion it's very poorly made!
I am highly disappointed. My daughter has been wanting a drone for so long, so I spent the $49.99 on it and when she opened it up today for her birthday she got so excited. After charging it we then read the directions and followed them to a T.... the drone wouldn't even fly, no spinning propellers, no hovering, nothing. It's going back tomorrow and I will never again buy this product. Nothing like disappointing your kid on their birthday
