This cordless iron is fantastic!! I would recommend it to everyone. It heats fast and you can use it with or without the cord which is so nice as you don't have a cord to get tangled if you are in a tight spot. I'm getting ready to order another one soon before they don't make this model anymore.

I'm very happy with this purchase. It feels like it is a quality item. I love how quickly it heats up and the burst of steam buttom works great when you need extra steam. I had a really cheap iron that I had used for years and had no idea what I was missing until I bought this. I use it for steaming the seams while sewing and quilting and I am very impressed with how well it gets the job done. I read other reviews that said it was hard to dock it on the base and I have no had that problem at all. I like how quickly you can switch to cordless mode as well.

The owner's manual could be written a little better - it talks about positions 1, 2, & 3 but there are no numbers on the iron's base. What they really mean are the positions of the switch which makes the iron useable without the cord (top position - #1), the locked position (middle positon - #2) or useable with the cord attached (bottom position - #3). It switches very easily from cordless to corded and back again. It stays hot quite a long time when used without the cord. If it is getting too cool, the light comes on to let you know and you can hook it up to the cord/base in two seconds and continue ironing. I sew and quilt a lot, and I LIKE the fact that it does NOT have an automatic shut-off.

I really do love this iron. Easy to handle, and light. I like the locking button, and the choice of either use it with the cord, or just by pushing the button up I will have a cordless iron. But there is only one little thing...spits out the water. So I would just put a little amount of water, or none. Eveything else about this iron I like.

There are features that I really like about this product...most importantly that it can be cordless. I bought a cordless iron years ago and recently needed to replace it. I've looked in stores and never found one. Then I decided to go online and I found this one and another more expensive brand (nearly double in price). When this one turned out to be "convertible", I thought great!! But that option seems to be the downfall of this product. The locking mechanisms that allow you to go corded or cordless or to even lock the hot iron to the base can be easily undone...even locking it to the base. Just lifting it and setting it down again can undo the lock. I don't do very much ironing, but I do love the cordless feature...even though this product isn't quite as good as the one I purchased 20 years ago...sometimes replacing or removing the iron from the base sometimes requires two hands...one to hold the base and the other on the iron...again, all because the design of the locking mechanism isn't as good as it should be....

Disappointed

The base very cheap plastic. The iron never made it to the electrical socket. I kept trying out the detachment feature. The only way I was able to detach the iron from the corded end was "manually", without the base. I was never able to leave the iron on the base and get it to detach from the base. The plastic on the base simply would not hold on to the corded section. I returned it the next day.

I am a quilter and liked the idea of having a cordless steam iron to press my pieces. The iron leaked water all over my finished quilt blocks, I was NOT happy. I returned it to the store.

I actually need to return this product. Have been looking for a cordless iron for some time but this one just doesn't work right. The iron does not heat up sufficiently.
