I got this set of try it sized Smashbox products to get a taste of what Smashbox has to offer. There were 4 different products in this box. My favorite is the full exposure mascara, followed by the photo finish primer. Of course I loved the other 2 things as well.
I have extremely oily eyelids. The shadow primer was fantastic in keeping my eyeshadow looking great all day. A first. Facial primer was the best I have ever used..and I've tried them.all. Eye shadow stayed on all day andcwas a very pretty accent for my blue eyes. Will definitely be buying the full size products when these are gone.
Love Smashbox products, especially their try it kits. They are especially great when you want to just try out new a new color, or a new product. And what's not to love. Their primers are the best I've tried so far. Mascara tends to come off easily, unless waterproof. For me, the pore minimizing primer outweighs ALL other poor minimizing serums! Great job Smashbox! Do not change that formula!
I was unsure what to try when I first started shopping on Smashbox. With this makeup kit I was able to see if I anything from here. I loved everything in this kit. I want full size products now. My favorite thing from the box was the photo finish face primer.
First of all i would like to say im really satisfied with your company. Even though i purchased a less expensive item they treated me an VIP member. They packaged the item very well and i received the item without a single damage. im highly satisfied with your shipping and deliver service.Talking about the products i received in this small kit, im highly satisfies with the Mascara and eye shadow trio. the color Sumatra in that pallet is highly pigment and convenient when travelling. Also i like the sample eye shadow and the travel size brush. This great kit worth every penny !!! I Highly recommend this kit
I'm a recent convert to Smashbox products! I just love, love, love the way the products glide on, no pulling and tugging. I also love the fact that the product are unscented. Who wants scented lip gloss anyways??? I love the fact that you can order samples and try the product before ... great concept!
When I got my package in the mail I was so excited to open it up and try everything inside, as soon as I tried the photo finish foundation primer I fell in love. I couldn't believe how silky smooth it made my skin feel I was so happy with it. Afterwards I tried the 24 hour photo finish shadow primer and was hooked, my eyelids felt so velvety smooth once I applied it and once I put on the photo op eye shadow trio I couldn't believe how well the eyeshadow was holding on to my eyes, the eyeshadows together made my eyes look warm all day even after I got off work my makeup was still perfect, even the full exposure mascara that came with this kit was great, I'm usually reluctant to try new mascara since I hate when mascara clumps my eyelashes but thiis mascara really opened up my eyes woth zero clumping, this is exactly what I have been looking for all these years
Ostensibly a set for trying some popular Smashbox stuff out, it's actually a well priced kit for some travel essentials. I've used all these products except the eye shadow primer before buying the kit, and in comparison to the larger sizes? I didn't notice any real difference. Face primer: the primer that seems to be Smashbox's most popular product. It feels good, works great. You don't need a whole lot of this product so even though this is the item in the set most likely to run out first, it's still great for travel or for seeing how your skin reacts to the product. Eyeshadow Trio: I find Smashbox can be sort of hit or miss on eyeshadows for me. I've got very dry lids and mattes have some trouble sticking to me. The quality for this trio is actually really good, in my opinion. Decent pigmentation for contouring, fairly blendable. I found this to be a great colour trio for my skin tone. I'm on the light side of medium facial colour, for reference. I think that most skin shades would work with it as it sheers out fairly decently. Eyeshadow primer: I adore this stuff! It's pretty thick, but it blends out really nicely and you don't need a whole lot. It sets pretty fast, so if you have loose shadow to put on, you might need to work fast. It doesn't help blendability like some primers, but it DEFINITELY is the longest lasting primer I've used. It lasts for a long time, keeps pigment well, and isn't super heavy once blended out. Also? If you're like me, you probably wont run out of this anytime soon, even with a travel size. Full Exposure Mascara: The only flop of the kit, for me. It's not horrible, but it's a bit heavy for my sensitive eyes. I'm not real fond of the huge applicator. However, it's good as an extra mascara, either for travel, or for when you realize you opened your main mascara 6 mths ago and you seriously need to toss it. I know a lot of people love this mascara, though, so it's worth it to try out to see if the formula suits you. Overall: I loved this. I use them as my travel essentials. I bought one for my sister and one for myself!
The kit I bought has a wonderful Photo Finish shadow primer but it is too thick to come out of the tube. I have been using a knitting needle! The Full Exposure mascara is a delight but, again, too thick for the mini tube. I have wasted at least a third wiping globs on tissues before I can apply. The only thing I can say about the Photo Op eye shadow trio in Filter is, please do not stop making this! As a woman of a certain age it is rare to find a shadow with no glitter and that stays put (so it does not emphasize wrinkles). Love this stuff. Haven't tried the Photo Finish Foundation Primer because I am without foundation at the moment. May have to get some just so I can try this!
I was really excited about this kit! I love trying out stuff in kits an deluxe sample sizes because you get to try several products at once and see how you like them and how they work together. I love love LOVE the mascara that came in this set. And the primers are average. But I was really disappointed by the eyeshadows. They're so powdery. Lots of fallout upon application, which isn't a super huge deal since I apply eyeshadow before everything else, but I felt like a lot of product was wasted because of how much powder there was. Sad. I mostly bought this to try the eyeshadows.
