It does not have sufficient power the sharpeners shut down with just the weight of the blade that they are trying to sharpen, try a different product would be a buy recommendation.
Do yourself a favor and avoid Smith's products. Their sharpeners will ruin your knives and their customer service is non-existent. They completely ignored my complaint.
