[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a must have for anyone who lives in an area with snowy winters. The wide broom is a sturdy but gentle foam that makes removing snow a breeze. The ice scraper on the other end is great for three final layer of ice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a quality snow/ice scraper with a cool snow broom attached. We have plenty of snow right now, so this will be handy in our truck. It's telescoping, can be used with both pieces attached if you want, and the pieces can be taken apart and attached to the broom for easy storage under the back seat of our truck. Handy item and we're glad we have it.
One day a co-worker's daughter came to pick her up after a snowstorm. She took the time to brush off every car in the parking lot while waiting for her mum. After that everyone wanted one so I ordered 5 and now all my co-workers and I have one!! Having been behind too many vehicles that have not properly removed the snow from their vehicles I know I am not creating a hazard for others. The long pole reaches the tops of most vehicles and then breaks down for easy storage - or like a couple of smarties did - bring the scraper into the office so we can brush off the car BEFORE getting into it at the end of the day!
Wish I know about this product years ago! Cleans the top of my SUV so quickly! I used to use the standard brush, which required a stool to reach and multiple passes. Now, quick as a wink, the top, hood and windshield is snow free and no stool needed. The large paddle does not remove ice, but great on the snow piles! I have not tried the ice scraper side yet…I usually defrost when I idle the vehicle.
I never write reviews for anything, so why am I doing it now? Simply put this product gets it done. First major snowfall this season this past weekend and cleaning my car was so fast and so easy. I was able to push the snow off, not worry about any scratches, and the ice scraper finished it off nicely. I bought a second one for my other car this way my wife and I are never without one.
A friend recommended it me, as he has a tall truck to clean off when it snows. This tool cleans snow off your vehicle ( it's the law) in no time without a hassle or scratching. I highly recommend this if you live where it snows, and have to clean off vehicles. I especially like the ice scraper feature as some other brands do not offer this, so I do not need to carry an additional scraper.
Having worked in the Auto profession for many years I have used snow brooms before ad would not be without one. The Snow joe is superior to what I have used in the past. In addition to pushing snow as well as what I have used in the past, the Sno Joe also offers a tough telescoping handel. Unlike the others Sno Joe also lets me finish removing ice with it's window scraper that is attached. Thanks for the great product.
I found out about snow brooms at a car dealership as I inquired how they cleared all the new cars without scratching them. The dealership did not sell the snow brooms and after looking in many stores for one I ordered online through Walmart and picked it up in-store. It was a good and easy experience to order online and pick up at Walmart. The product, the snow broom is so much easier than a snow brush. It moves the snow so easily and quickly and it is great to know I won't scratch the car as I remove the mountains of snow. I did find out from the dealer that it is important not to set the rectangular push pad on the ground as salt and gravel can get attached or imbedded and then create small scratches on the car. It is a little difficult to get the telescoping handle unlocked when first receiving it but the manufacturer gives instructions to twist left then pull hard initially and this works. After the first opening it is easy to use.
Sturdy enough to push and pull decent amounts of snow off of your vehicle, but any melted snow that turns into ice on the surface has a tendency to eat away at the edge of the foam. I still believe that it will avoid putting scratches and swirls in my paint better than your average snow brush - and that's especially important on my black paint job - but I don't know how long it will last if it starts breaking down along the edge when it gets scraped by the ice. Maybe it works better if you stay a bit further above the surface and just clear the majority of the ice off. Scraper seems a little flimsy, and it's awkward to use because the other end has that big foam piece, but you can get around that by taking it off... which brings me to my next point - it's kind of a pain to take this apart and put it back together all the time. Much easier to store if the foam is off of it with the handle snapped to the back of it, but annoying to have to do that every time that you use it. Lastly, the twist to loosen and extend or retract feature on the shaft isn't very high quality. Tough to get a hold of that smooth piece to twist it, and it doesn't feel very sturdy. The snow brush that I used to use had a rotating brush head, and a big, ribbed plastic fitting that was easy to turn to loosen it to retract or extend the shaft. Wish that they had worked out something like this instead. I'm not totally confident that this SnowJoe will make it through the winter... we'll see.
They force you to give at least one star so I did. This product is a piece of Styrofoam on a flimsy plastic stick. I never review things but I couldn't let anyone make this mistake. It is literally impossible to push anything more than light powder. Don't be fooled by the pictures!
