I had an iPod Nano 8 gb (which costed $150) and it got stolen. To avoid something expensive getting stolen again, I purchased a pink/red one of these for $79. It was half the price of my iPod with twice the storage space! The battery life is long, the FM feature works in my house, and I live way out in the country! I love the amount of space this product allows. I also like how simple it is to use..I had it figured out in about 10 minutes. I like how the software is preloaded onto the MP3 player, even though it does take up a little space. I dropped it for the first time 2 days ago on a tile floor and the only visible mark I see is a little ding on the corner. The built-in speakers have a very high volume and they're great for when I'm cleaning my room and need something to jam to. The software included is very easy to use. I like the drag and drop feature. It was also a BIG plus that I could use content transfer (preloaded on the player) to drag and drop songs straight from iTunes! The songs I had in iTunes were ripped from CDs, bought from iTunes, and downloaded from Morpheus. They all went onto the player with ease into easy-to-locate folders. The only negative I have is that the earbuds included with the MP3 player were too big for my ears & I can't use them. This is an all around a great product and I would recommend it to anyone.
I already own one MP3 which was received as a gift. I bought this MP3 because I needed more capacity. The newer MP3 did not receive good ratings from those who had purchased them so I decided buying another exactly like I had as I knew that it had no problems and did most everything I wanted.
this was my first mp3 and I wanted something that I did not have to use earphones. This mp3 was just the thing and it works great. The only problem is that it is not very loud. The room has to be quiet to hear through the speakers.
I own this sony walkman and an Ipod classic. For comparison-I think the Ipod looks nicer and has a much larger capacity--other than that everything about the Sony is better. The built in speaker is nothing overly impressive-but it's a nice feature for listening at low volume without headphones. I purchased an optional blue tooth connector to play this device through my wireless speakers-had to read the instructions on the speakers and walkman--but then it was a simple connection when following instructions and works flawlessly up to about 25 feet. The main reasons I prefer the walkman to the Ipods are price and ease of transferring music to the player-it couldn't be much easier. It a shame there aren't more docks or systems that incorporate docking the walkman. But with the bluetooth/wireless speaker I am quite pleased-though the walkman cannot be charged simultaneously with using the blue tooth as they use the same wm port-but for audio only, this player has more than sufficient battery life-so it's a simple matter of recharging later. For anyone looking for an mp3 player-I would recommend the sony walkman highly and as a better buy than an Ipod
The Sony NWZ-S545 mp3 player has excellent sound quality. The external speakers is a nice added touch but don't expect hifi sound from these. Although the external speakers sound pretty good for what they are, they do not have dynamic range and quickly get lost in larger open areas. The sound quality of this mp3 player is excellent, and you can customize the equalizer settings to a degree. Video plays nice and smooth on this player, with the 2.4" display nice and bright. This is a great value for the money, and is definitely worth your consideration. Sony is quality and it shows in this player.
I bought this mp3 for my 8 year old for her birthday and she absolutely loves it. I was looking to buy her something nice like an ipod but not spend quite so much money. This mp3 is perfect for it. It was a great price and works great. The sound is good, she loves the color and she can work it all by herself. Would definitely recommend for someone who wants a quality and affordable mp3.
Have had this player for about a week or so and I can't complain. Start up was a breeze and file transfer was very simple. I have nearly 1900 songs on the player and still have about 1/4 of space left. The drag and drop feature is fantastic and I like the fact I don't have to download another media player. However, it does require you to have Window Media Player 11 and will probably ask you to update the security if you haven't done so already - its quick and painless. The speakers are a great feature and one that I've used more times than I anticipated. I find it to be very user friendly and the color display is vibrant and crystal clear. A few things though: the buttons are a little noisy, but I'm used to the touch controls on the Samsung S3. Also haven't found that I can't create playlists in the player, and wish that was was an available feature. Neither of these are deal breakers or cause to reduce the rating in my opinion. Fantastic player and I enjoy it very much! Great buy!
This Walkman is great. It has a great display. The on board speakers are okay if you're working in a quiet place and don't want to use head phones. Battery life is good - as long as you're not turning it on and off 10 times a day (like for use in the car between shopping destinations:)], but it still lasts a looooong time. It also starts up fast! Which on other players - it takes a while. The hold button comes in handy if you're gonna throw it in ur pocket or purse. The color wasn't a problem cause you can find cases on shopping sites for cheap. The head phones are great w/ good sound. The stand...is kinda of a joke. I little piece of plastic that holds it for viewing videos, its totally seperate from the player itself. Finding that piece in a purse...not ideal, it wouldn've been great if it was built in. The docking piece is okay if you have a speaker dock (I have no use for this piece). I give it a 9 out of 10. I was hoping since this product underlines the artist/genre/year that you could easily jump to the selected item as another song is playing, but you have to go back and select it from the top menu. Example: If on shuffle/all songs & currently playing was playing Jeff Buckley/ Grace/ "Last good bye"/Alternative. You can highlight/underline each item. If I highlighted Grace I would want to just see that album, but it doesn't do that :( I wish it did, but it's still easy to go to the main menu and select the album/artist that way.
The Sony Walkman 16g player is compact and lightweight. Very easy to operate. Sound quality is good. The speakers aren't all that great and the volume is pretty low even on the highest setting, But the sound is great through headphones. Definatly going to have to fidget with the equalizer to get sharp sound. Overall, very good product for the price!
For the money this is a great value. I bought the red player since it was about $25 less then the black. So far it does everything I need it to. The only complaint I have is I cannot turn off the screen saver function.
