I love that it has the continuous play feature so it's on all night long. My son sleeps so good with this sound machine. I'm about to have another baby so I bought one for his nursery too.
I was very happy with the sound machine. It helps me relax after a long stressful day. I would recommend this product to anyone that needs to relax at the end of the day. I like the features of the timer and the fact that within the last 12 minutes the sound starts to get lower to help you fade to sleep.
Purchased another machine that I returned for this product. Offers different sounds, volume control and cont play. Similar to a machine that I had years ago. The first machine only offered masking sounds, not the rain, surf etc that I was used to. Very helpful since I sleep during the day for the most part.
I have been having problems sleeping for quite a while. A family member suggested a sound therapy machine to help. I started looking for the right one for me. I decided to get this one, because it has an headphone jack, so I can avoid disturbing my husband. This one ended up being such an awesome choice.
One of its great features is the multiple selections for how long you want it on. Unlike cheaper units this one can be set to continuous run. The sounds are about as realistic as can be made on a digital card and there are 6 choices. Other digital sound cards can be purchased for a wider selection of sounds. This unit can also be operated with batteries. So far I am very pleased with the product.
I got this for my 12 year old granddaughter who has been having trouble for months falling asleep. She can operate the machine easily---she prefers the "rain" sound--- and it is lulling her to sleep each night. She is more rested and more "pleasant" in the morning since using the sound machine!
This is a great compact unit that is easy to use. I liked the fact that it had preloaded sounds with the option to play on a timed or continuous basis. I was using an inexpensive cd player prior to getting this unit however it kept malfunctioning. The cd's offer a more realistic sound but the player was unreliable. After going through several of the cheap cd players I opted for the Sound Oasis Sound System. You get 6 sound effects options with the unit and you can purchase additional sound cards if you want other sounds. I did feel it was a little overpriced. I found that Walmart offers the lowest price. Too soon to tell if it will withstand the test of time. It creates an atmosphere conducive to sleep with is exactly what I wanted to accomplish.
I use the Sound Oasis to end the day. The background of the surf or rain really helps me physically exhale. Just 30 minutes of sound plus hint of lavender essence makes the day fall away and slumber peaceful. I work in a industrial complex and thought recently how the Sound Oasis could be used when the traffic and other businesses are noisier than other days. I searched for a few months to find a replacement sound machine for the one i had for over ten years. This one is the closest to it in design and function so i purchased it. The on/off button on the front is a bit stiff and occasionally causes me to adjust the sound by mistake. Overall it is a good product even though i've had it for only a few weeks. On/off button is a bit stiff and volume button moves too easily but i am pleased with it.
I was looking for a TRAVEL-SIZE sleep sounds machine that had an alarm clock ,like my previous one,that was AC / BATTERY adaptable&had various interchangeable sound cards. This one is too bulky for travel,no alarm clock,the available sounds are really not to my liking,except the" rain" is a semi-OK replacement for the "thunderstorm" sounds on it's predecessor.To be perfectly honest,this is the third machine I've gotten from this company(SOUND OASIS) and ALL of them seem to work for a couple of years,then start screwing up and DIE (usually 1 week after they initially start getting squirrelly). The last one didn't come with an AC adapter and I ended up putting 4 batteries a month in it( I would find out just before I went to bed that the batteries were dead,and that one took FOREVER to reset the time ,because you could only go FORWARD with time set(AT A SNAILS PACE !!) because it didn"t have a REVERSE FEATURE like every other clock on EARTH. Not something to find out when youre sleepy. ANYWAY, the company that makes these particular machines ,we're not big fans of,because they have a long history of what must be engineering or quality control issues, if you look at the internet reviews on SOUND OASIS sleep machines ,most people are NOT impressed with their LONGEVITY / RELIABILITY. THE ONLY REASON I bought another one myself was out of desperation to get some sleep and lack of options. For the price,they should produce a better, more reliable product that should last longer than a year or two.I'm STILL looking for a reasonably-priced TRAVEL-SIZED sleep/alarm clock that we can DEPEND ON to keep working when you need it .
