If you like Spam, like my family does, this is a good choice. It tastes like it's supposed to, and has less of the things that would cause you to avoid Spam...like fat and salt. Once I tried this Turkey Spam, it's the only kind I will buy. Makes great Spam-burger hamburgers, and even better omelets. Or try putting slices into a shallow pan and adding sweet onions and your favorite BBQ sauce. Bake at 350 until crusty. Pair that with mixed veggies and garlic bread for a quick, easy meal. I like to pan fry with soy sauce, ginger, honey, and a little teriyaki sauce, and pair that with veggie fried rice, too. Bottom line, it's a very versatile canned meat product that will go well with a number of different flavor profiles.
I order this for my senior parents who still live in their own home but have difficulties cooking like they used to. Though still higher sodium than they probably should have it's better than most of the others. They actually really love this flavor very much which I am pleased with as it's an easy way for them to add some much needed protein to their diet. Price is fair. So there is no confusion this is just like the spam most of us are familiar with only it's made with turkey. It is not some type of sliced deli meat in a can (which I don't think even exists). My folks fry it up and have veggies with it. They can slice it to whatever thickness suits them. They really enjoy it.
I really cant say tasty about any of the flavors of spam, but they serve a purpose & supply some protein. Wish they all had much less sodium.. I'm supposed to limit daily sodium intake to 2000mg & I think the spams can quickly put me on the high side of that actually.
i'm off the red meats for several years now. and better for it I think. I prefer to cook my own white meats so I know what it looks like when I start and finish. ground-reformed with meat glue [google it] and shaped into a can turkey is suspicious--BUT I do like it for a quickie meal and the taste agrees with me! I watch fat and protein content-- this has lower fat- 4+ grams and protein- 10 grams per serving. too much sodium but I never salt so a bit won't hurt me on occasion. the pooch passed away [not from spam!] so I can't test it on his gourmet palate. an option to cooking--a blast from the past [well old time spam-wiches as a kid]--and an emergency pantry food item with protein-- makes this a rebuy for me. it's ok! and a sharp knife on chilled meat will give you thin slices...chunk it into a salad...or just slab it into a skillet and eat and try to not think about what that Mr. GobbleGobble went through to get into that little can!
I ordered four 3-packs of the Turkey Spam. Unfortunately we are unable to eat any of it. The order was delayed more than likely due to weather and then when it arrived everything was completely frozen. The extreme cold weather hit just after I placed the order and from what I have been reading, you should not eat anything that has been frozen in cans. Waste of $42 in food. I will not be ordering any canned goods during winter time again. Lesson learned.
No pork !! Really like this "Turkey Spam" . Great fried with eggs %26 taters or just plain as a snack . Used to get it every time purchased groceries ~ however for some reason Walmart decided to discontinue shipping this item.. Which is reason for "only" 3 stars .
Tastes nothing like turkey. Ate from can, lightly browned in butter, fried crispy in olive oil. All tasted like salty tofu ish nothing. Added some poultry seasoning, still nothing. Im glad I tried it. Bought 3 cans. Ill use it somehow. As far as the future, ill just keep buying canned chicken. At least it tastes like chicken.
It is 6:11am PST and Order%23 2000118-25951126 has been placed on delay. I'm starting to believe this is a personal attack due to many of the products are for MY PASSOVER. The Driver from 4/16 9-10pm PST, told me that when she arrived, 9:55pm PST, walmart was closed. I also have that Driver's name and phone. She had a 516 area code. Two previous orders, separate dates, within a week, were not delivered to my home. They were delivered, elsewhere and photos were of a suspect nature. Ques: Did Walmart have to have the products driven from Long Island, NY, because the Nevada stores are so incompetent?
Did not request a multi pack and got charged for 2. When only had one quantity down
