Gave this to my 14-year-old son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. In the learning phase he crashed this things many times and it doesn't show a scratch. Now he is doing flips and tricks with it and is having tons of fun! Very durable and very fun!
This was perfect for my 6 year old - keep in mind he's had experience with flying helicopters and has a dad that's a pro, but this model is great and pretty indestructible!
My 1o year old loves it as well as my husband!!!
Great fun! My sweetheart can't put it down! Well except every 8 minutes to charge it. The only con, very low battery life. A tip: the propellers love to suck up hair and threads, so be careful!
This will be a Christmas present, I like what I see, now that I have the product. I think for the price it was a good deal. Drones are not cheap, good and cheap way to get flying practice.
I had my first Helix for over a year before an imbalance in the rotors made it impossible to control. My second had serious control issues right out of the box, the back right rotor was under performing cause the craft to fly back and to the right immediately upon liftoff. A replacement is on its way from the manufacturer, had I gone through Walmart I'm sure I'd have my replace a month sooner. I'm used to the Helix being a very stable, intuitive aircraft, I hope that is true of my replacement.
Soon as I got it and started to take off, it will fly backwards. So I call spin master about that plane and they sent me another one as soon I try to take off it fly backwards too
This item is much smaller than it appears in person.
I am going to return it. It doesn't charge well and when it does it holds a charge for 5 minutes.
The Helix X4 is too loud!!! I checked mine on a decible meter and it operates at about 90 decibles. Thats the same sound level as a factory floor. This is way too high for indoor use, which is supposed to be one of its features. It is also way too light to use outdoors. A small slight wind makes it hard to control. For the price you can get a couple of better quad copter options. I tried to contact the company and they will not even reply to my emails, other than a auto generated response that they will helping me as soon as they get organized. That was 2 weeks ago !!! I bought it at Walmart online, which I will avoid in the future if this is the vendor support that they offer. Pass on the Helix X4 and get yourself a quad that really has a company behind it.
