Tired of paying Verizon for less data and same service areas. Got kit, easily activated my account and could call and text right away. It took about 24hrs for my service to get on the 4g network but i didn't have to do anything. It's silly to pay big companies what they want for a freaking cell phone! Well worth it in my opinion, who wouldn't want their bill cut in half! Not sure why previous people have trouble setting it up. If you can read and do things in correct order, its that simple!
I bought this activation kit for a Galaxy s5 that i had on Verizon at one time. All i had to do was go online and my phone was activated within minutes! It was very easy if you follow the instructions and do what is told.
As a family we have 4 straighttalk phone plans. We brought 3 phones and 1 is a straighttalk phone purchased through Walmart. If you do not need aphone number ported by a different carrier it is very quick and painless. If you are switching phone numbers from an existing straighttalk phone to a new phone it is even less painless. We even brouhgt a Verizon iPhone 5 that was out of contract but still on a plan, we were able to port the number and keep it and activate the straighttalk service. I had to use the nano card intended for Verizon phone, and I had to call straighttalk. After a few transfers and some trouble shooting, all was taken care of. I activated the plan on a Saturday, called on a Monday and they were able to trouble shoot all issue. You may be without service for 1-2 days , but it is saving us hundreds of dollars in a year....Verizon $90 a month, 2 gigs of data= 1 year at $1080..., straight talk tax, fees and plan $50 a month, 5 gigs of data = $600 a year. It's a no brainier.
I changed over to Straight Talk from Sprint and love it better signal NO drop calls much better!!
After struggling with a subpar China phone I purchased this. Its worth it. Please note the price of this bundle includes every single sim card you may need as well as a month of service. At&t phones can be used on straight talk without being unlocked, all other carriers do need to be unlocked. I got my phone and the sim from another site, the sim didn't work, I called straight talk they mailed me a sim....they mailed the wrong one. Two weeks into the fiasco I just gave up and spent the money on this and it was worth it! Within 30 minutes my new phone was up and running perfectly fine. Activate it on the website and it walks you through step by step exactly what to do. I was unsure if I completed the process correctly so I used the "live chat" feature on the website and they were very helpful! With the difficulty in understanding their speaking the live chat was wonderful. Spend the money to get the sim you know you need and you won't regret it!
I have 2 phones that now are on Straight Talk and I am very happy with the service. I transferred both easily online. When I have had to call customer service they answer quickly and are helpful (occasionally hard to understand but always courteous). No service problems at all - really have had the same service as my contract for less money - this is a no-brainer!
Got this for my verizon s3. Found that the verizon sim card does not work with it. Had to use the att sim instead. This requires changing network setting to gsm mode (requires android 4.1.2 minimum). With gsm the data speed is "E" for Edge, which is all but useless as far as data speed. You dont get 4g LTE with the verizon s3. everything else works fine (mms, text, call, data) and for $40-45/mo, thats hard to beat.
Don't do it unless you have plenty of patience and DON'T NEED YOUR PHONE!!!!! After calling not once, not twice, but three times to see if I would be able to change my phone over and beginning told I could I have yet to be able to do so. After 36 hours, 6 phone calls.....nothing. The only thing they have given me is the run around. NOW, I was told I would have call my old courier and get information about my phone in order to change it over. I have been unable to obtain this information and until I do I am stuck with a non working phone. It doesn't help either that whenever you talk to someone at straight talk you are told different information and get the standard "I'm sorry for the false information"! How about Straight Talking writing a standard SOP for everyone to us? Thanking God for giving me a clean tongue because the old unsaved me would have lost it by now.
Before I bought this item I called straight talk to make sure my phone would work with this kit and if it didn't I could get my money back so I advised all the information needed to validate it would work and they said it would. I bought this item from Walmart then made sure again before I opened it would work was assured it would. IT DID NOT WORK. Called straight talk got the run around for hours then was told they would send another Sim card. Three phone calls, 6 representatives, and three weeks later still no sim card, no refund, no use of phone and no answers. I lost my money and no one will help. Extremely disappointed of my treatment.
Tried to use the 4G LTE Sim card with the new Verizon/Straight Talk unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5 that I bought and it will register on the website but won't recognize the card. Shame I used the service card that came with it to try to transfer service from another phone, so I don't think I'll be able to get a refund. Just have to return phone. Eat the difference. And buy one from the store that comes in a straight talk box and hope it works. I have heard these kits work great on AT&T and TMobile phones though! Buyer beware
