I needed this safe to lock up things in my home, that I don't want others to access. This safe is perfect, I don't have to carry a key around because I use a code to open. I was using a fire box, but that was able to be pried open. This safe cannot be pried open. It bolts to the drawer for added security.
Excellent safe for storing your items when you need to get them in a hurry! Added bonus that you can turn off the beeping when punching in your access code so nobody will here you getting into your safe.
This safe is very secure. It exceeded my expectations in that it is very sturdy, strong. Even if someone was to steal the safe, it would be extremely hard for them to get into it. So, maybe that would be a deterrent. It is made of very tough "steel". The digital locking mechanism is great. Just remember to get new batteries after about a year's usage. You can still open the safe with a key (supplied with the safe), in the event your battery dies. It is a very heavy, yet attractive safe. It looks like it should have cost much more than it did. I am super pleased with this product. Great for storing watches, rings, money, small important papers, etc.
Sturdy construction , 2 heavy duty bolts for door , 2 keys supplied in case of battery failure or forgotten pass code. Its not the best but check out the "price" on the rest! This is a great product for the price. I do not hesitate to recommend this product.
This is a great small, portable or permanent mount electronic locking safe for 1`or 2 small handguns, 1 large handgun or jewelry, checkbooks, cash, or other items when traveling or at home. The 6 digit electronic lock provides thousands of possible combinations and can be opened much quicker than a key lock or rotary dial tumbler lock. It is very well constructed and very solid. My only complaint would be the weight. It is a little on the heavy side if you decide to travel with it. Overall I am very happy with mine and would definitely consider buying another one should the need present itself.
I was looking for a sizable safe with touch pad. This unit has a lot of room for a small unit. Touch pad and instruction very straight forward. Two keys if batteries (4-AA) fail. I am very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it to any one looking for a small economical safe. It is also wall mountable. Ship to store with free shipping is great!
This is a good product for the price. It appears secure and is constructed well. However, the combo keypad makes 'beeps' when you unlock the safe and this could be a problem if an intruder were in your house and heard you keying in. Perhaps there is a way to shut the 'beeps' off?
I bought this safe to keep my handgun safely out of our kids reach but easily accessible in case of emergency. It does both. Still have to figure out where to mount it. Won't fit in bedside drawer, which is where I'd hope to install it. The hidden key access is a plus. Haven't seen a better electronic safe for this purpose under $50.
I own two of these safes. The first one I mounted in the wall removed the rubber number pad flipped it. Then installed the safe so the door opens down instead of up making so I can get in the safe with just one hand. I also removed the beeper that makes a sound every time you push a button. I then took some foam and cut out the shape of my handgun so it would hold it securely in the safe. The second safe I have is in a drawer. My only complaint, I wish the latch for opening and closing it was a little smoother with a shorter throw and a clear way to know the safe is locked. I drew lines on mine so I could tell at a glance that I locked it when I was done.
I purchased both the Stack-On RDS-500 Electronic Locking drawer safe and the Sentry Quick Access Safe 0.08 cubic feet to compare them. This one LOST hands down and I am returning it. The best word to describe the Stack-On Electronic Locking Drawer Safe is 'CLUMSY'. The lock is loose, the safe is too deep, and the gun hits on the sides when removing it. Also since this safe does not have any type of arm to hold the lid open, quick removal is impossible. The entire dresser drawer would need to be removed to open the lid enough to remove the firearm. In addition, the battery compartment protrudes into the safe space awkardly. Do yourself a favor and purchase the Sentry Quick Access Safe 0.08 cubic feet if your firearm will fit in it.
