I use the Couch Cane to transfer between wheelchair and recliner. I'm much more confident and secure when I transfer as it is a sturdy and strong handle whether I am getting in or out of the recliner.
I purchased this for my mother who is mostly wheelchair bound. She is a little unstable on her feet, but this gives her a secure, stable grip for her to use when transferring from wheelchair to her recliner and vice versa. I also purchased the optional tray which gives her a place to eat in her recliner. She likes Circle a Word puzzles and it gives her a place to do them also. The pouch is very roomy. It holds her reading glasses and other small items she uses all the time like the TV remote, etc.
My husband has been dealing with anal cancer and can only lay or stand and this helps him get off the couch easier.
Papa was having a hard time getting out of his favorite chair and this little diddy does the trick! He's not easy to impress but the Couch Cane hit the mark. Thank you! PS- The Doxie likes it too!
It is durable especially when I am at the 300 plus weight class, mobile easy to move from one couch to the other and adjustable to fit any couches. Well designed and Job Well Done
My husband is 82 yrs. old and has been having problems getting up from our living room couch for quite awhile. I know it really started frustrating and depressing him so I began researching aids that would help. After learning all kinds of helpful information online, I then found Stander's Couch Cane plus many, many more of your fantastic products. It was like finding a gold mine! ha The Couch Cane arrived in record time, easy as pie for me to assemble and the first time he sat down I said to him "okay babe, let's see what you can do!" He rose, using the aid of his new cane, with absolutely no effort, (almost like he was 65 again) and then he smiled from ear to ear. Thank you, thank you.
It is a great help standing up from chair. Doesn't work with the rocker recliner but is very sturdy with arm chair. Adjustable height is handy and is easy to use.
My mother needs help getting up so we are going to try the couch cane. Seems very well built and sturdy. Took about 5 minutes to assemble.
We bought the product in January for family member with balance issues. This worked for while and seemed to be a good product until the welds on the main union between the vertical and horizontal braces. By September the two small welds on the left and right sides had ripped and left the thin metal tube to bend, weaken and finally snap. After opening the protective case, there appeared to be signs of rust even though the cane had never been outside and we don't have water in our living room. The user is only 120 pounds so this was not a case of mis-use or abuse.
Had a surgery and was issued this couch cane. The product did not last very long. I was pulling myself up off the couch using the Couch Cane as an assist and the bottom snapped rendering the product unusuable. .
