I was sceptical about it fitting in the pouch where I keep my 35' which was tight. Strangely the 40' fits better making it easier to pull out. And I can measure 34 to 35 feet without fearing breaking the spool. My 35 footers always break after stretching to get past 34'
Great tape measure dependable amazing length is great
Well made
Exactly what I needed, works very well and easy to read
heavy duty,great!
i have had hundreds of tape measures over all the years, this 40 footer is the best.
Good tape
I bought this tape a bout a month ago. I work on overhead cranes. the tape extended out about ten feet, and then dropped. I have been installing cranes the last few weeks, and now the tape is almost useless. as soon as the tape comes out it curls to the left and falls.
Been using Fatmax tapes since they were invented!!! Last batch I bought were horrible!!! Stand out wasn't nearly was it used to be and then the curling started. I'll have to find a new brand its a shame.
I have been using Stanley fat max tape measures for a long time now, 30 foot has been my go to but this time I wanted to buy a 40 foot for laying out and making my job easier. However this tape measure only lasted me about six months and the spring on it is already gone, the spring has been very weak since day one when I bought it it would never spring back right away. I would not recommend this product as somebody in the trades for over 20 years has had nothing but issues with the specific tape measure. As you can see from the pictures yes it looks worn, but that is from putting in and out of my pouch. The second one you can clearly see I am only 2 1/2 feet out without the lock on and it still does not retract back in.
