At last a simple HDMI to VGA converter! Use your newer laptop (HDMI) with an older projector (VGA). You'll still need to separate the sound feed, though, which may be tricky if your computer prefers to make those choices for you. Windows10 has frustrated me in this department. Unfortunately, this adapter does not register as a second screen for the Samsung Chromebook, thus you can't do screen mirroring or extended desktop from Chromebook to projector, for example.

My laptop with an HDMI port now can project to a VGA screen. There was an initially a problem of a loss of audio, but that was easily solved by restoring the original audio setting through the control panel.

Exact adapter! Looked and looked. Couldn't find the right one..... So glad walmart.com had it! What a life saver!
