Well designed and manufactured, light and easy to use. Bought it to steam new couch covers, so I needed to refill often, but it did a beautiful job. For everyday small jobs, it's fantastic.
Very pleased! My daughters wedding dress was shipped to Hawaii. I ordered the steamer and carried it to Hawaii with me. We steamed the dress the day before the wedding and it worked great! Instead of the tips, i just draped a clean white small towel over the steamer to protect the dress. Gets hot really quick and did the job!
Okay, this is my first experience with a fabric steamer... but I hate all things laundry related. I'm the girl who always has a laundry basket somewhere stuffed full of clean wrinkled clothes. I hate dragging out the iron and my little ironing board, and messing with the spray starch that always seems to flake. This thing is awesome!!! It's really easy to use and heats up fast. I tested it out on two really wrinkled pillow cases, and it was so cool I stared looking through my closet for other things to steam. I got the wrinkles out of 2 button up shirts before it got low on water and started spitting water out onto my shirt. This is a life changer. I hope it lasts for years, because when it stops working I will definitely have to buy another fabric steamer.
Don't listen to all those other negative reviews about how water splashed up on the clothes or how difficult it was to refill the tank that's all Bs if you don't put the water above the maximum line the water doesn't spin out and keep a cup handy it takes less than 30 seconds the refill it and restart. Just be careful after using it when you open theTwist Off cap... the base of the twist-off cap can be very hot.
We ordered this for my husband who had to start wearing a suit & tie for work every day. The place where he purchased his suits had the same exact product for $40, so the Wal-Mart price was perfect. It doesn't take out deep creases so you will still need an iron, but it works great to freshen up his jacket as soon as he gets home. It also works great on his shirts when you pull them out of the dryer as soon as it stops. He uses it every day and loves it. Planning on using it for the curtains and our comforter real soon.
This steamer heats up quickly and holds enough water to complete 2-3 blouses or 1-2 dresses. The steamer is light weight and easy to handle. For everyday use, this steamer is 10x easier than dragging out my ironing board and making sure not to burn my delicate fabrics with a hot iron. However, the SteamFast steamer did not produce as much steam compared to my large free standing pricey steamer. The SteamFast steamer was unable to properly de-wrinkle my boyfriends suit pants he had rolled in a ball and tucked away in his closet for a month. But you can't expect miracles, and my boyfriend learned his lesson.
I purchased this inexpensive fabric steamer to steam out the new drapes I recently purchased. I have found that steaming does a far better job at getting out the packaging wrinkles than ironing. Very simple operation; fill reservoir with cold water, plug in and when steam is visible the unit is ready to use. Only two downfalls to this model; 1) there is no on/off switch...plugged in= on and 2) there is no adjustable knob for variable settings based on fabric type. Other than that, it appears to be a well made unit and the operation was easy, the wrinkles came out of the fabric with two passes.
this is a good steamer for very minimal use. you will not get professional dry cleaner standards, but it does the job for a inexpensive home clothes steamer. i'm glad i purchased because it will save money on dry cleaners. just make sure to steam your clothes the night before so you can let it dry fully in time to wear the next day. p.s. don't use the attachments that come with the steamer. it makes the steaming much longer
after receiving this steamer - i read the fine print. although in the online advertisement it states "this steamer uses tap water." I found that the product states "it is always better to use distilled or ionized water. " which means it will break or clog up in about 2 months. as far as the steamer itself - it's ok> does the job.
I bought this steamer and it arrived on a Wednesday. The next day when I was using it, I noticed that this crack appeared during the thermal expansion of the inner bottle. Cheap plastic? SEE PICTURE.
