Over the years I have used Sta-Bil successfully in several of my lawnmowers and lawn equipment. If you plan to have a viable working engine after a few months of winter storage, use Sta-Bil for best results!
When I put my classics in storage for winter (6 months here in the Northeast) I would not think of storing them without a healthy dose of Sta-Bil Storage! I have never had any problems with stale gas and they fire right up in the Spring. Fill the tank to the top. add Sta-Bil and run for a few minutes to protect the fuel in the lines as well.
Great product and highly recommended. Starts in the Spring time running excellent with zero issues. Sad to use it, but New England's weather sucks.
I've used Sta-Bil for years, for lawn mower/snow blower gas I have a 5/gallon gas can I'll put 2oz of Sta-Bil per gallon it'll take me 2 years to use up 5 gallons! I have another 5/gallon gas can for my backup generator I just use a double dose of 2oz of Sta-Bil for 2.5 gallons. After a year or so if I don't lose power, I'll put it in car and get another fresh can for backup!
I've used this stuff for years. If you cannot drain and purge the entire fuel system, Sta-Bil is mandatory for vehicle and equipment storage. I also use it in my backup fuel supply to keep it fresh and ready to use in an emergency.
Service, and delivery was prompt, and easy to get answers. I put the product in my Yamaha 250 bike, and had great results. Good stuff. Would recommend product, and company.
I bought this product, because I'm storing my 1965 Sunbeam Tiger , for the winter. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Back in the fall of 2001 I put my 1985 Dodge GLH 2.2L Turbo in storage. I added Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer to the fuel and ran the car for about 10 minutes. The plan was to get the car out the following spring. Well, next thing you know 15 years had past. I'm now relocating and I needed to move the car, so I put a fresh battery in the car, and to my amazement, it started right up. It ran like I just shut it off yesterday. No issues, runs great. The car had 3/4 tank of fuel when I stored it in 2001. If anyone at Sta-Bil is interested in a fuel sample to analyze, feel free to contact me. The 15 year old fuel is Shell Premium unleaded. Not sure what's in this product but it works!
I have a few cars and sometimes it is difficult to get them out and running in the winter time. When I learned of sta-bil, I was sold after the first time I used it. My cars started up and ran well without the usual hassle of coughing and stalling. I recommended it to my brother and now he uses it in his lawn mower and even the gas he keeps in a can for emergencies.
Don't be surprised by hurricane season and not have much left for a generator. Generator calls for stabil and have had ethanol free rec90 go bad in 6 months without it.
