I put this at an empty house w/o WiFi/power is on, just no internet. It works fine for a security camera. Now I'm home, 1/2 hour away and I can see it's safe and sound. Keep in mind you have to go in to settings and make sure it's not always "on" b/c it'll drain your data. Depending on your camera you don't want a wireless always on either it'd drain your battery. If you're careful and you know what you're doing,,,I'm no expert but I have other cameras/just not away from home and router (internet) it can be done. 30 day $15 data card 2GB ePIN I think will get me through the month w/data to spare. For this kinda money I can't complain but I'm only day one in to it. Stand by for further.

Setting up is “technically” straight-forward, but not as user-friendly as it could be. Few tips to help others: 1 - Either buy a hotspot data card right away from the store along with this device or use Straight Talk's “My Account” app to buy data for it during activation. 2 - CHECK YOUR DEVICE SETTINGS BEFORE CONNECTING TO IT, your device will burn up as much data as you allow it to, which is typically as much as possible, which means if gone unchecked will burn through all the data you just bought before you even realize, and it will do so the exact moment you connect to this hotspot. 3 - Customer service is policy driven and not satisfaction driven, if you accidentally burn through your data by setting it up, they will not credit your data back. Overall this is a neat device and performs exactly as advertised, customer service being more satisfaction-driven would have given this product a fifth star in my book.

Decent for basic internet needs.

Pros: Easy activation, works as intended. Getting around 20-30mbps. Cons: Awful battery life....you'll need to keep it plugged in for long use. Data display doesnt works well.....it "resets" after using 20GB or so. Device connected indicator sometimes doesnt update properly. Overall its a decent device for basic internet needs. If you dont need the mobility, you're better off getting 5G Home Internet.

I bought this hotspot along with a $40 4 gig card I hope you up my blink security camera to it which is supposed to use two gigs a month and somehow it's used the 4 gigs in less than 4 hours so I had to call Straight Talk because there was some kind of issue but luckily they refunded a minute and fix the problem I still don't know how it used all of it that quick

Horrible

The amount of GIGABYTES you receive is not worth it they go out way to fast and to be able for Straight Talk to unlock the device to switch to a better company you have to either have your account active for a year or pay $300 . And they DO NOT HAVE UNLIMITED DATA FOR YOUR HOTSPOT DEVICE.

Avoid this and look into other hotspot devices.

Not the best device for Internet. I would avoid this and look into other hotspot devices, or purchase Internet from a service provider. This device hasn't been great for me. Often times the internet is slow to where I can barely watch a YouTube video without it loading going to even Google to search has been really slow. Right now I just added 50 dollars and it's saying no internet. I have a straight talk phone and it has internet. But I need it for my laptop and it's frustrating that it's junk. You don't get 5G internet either, you only get 4G. I don't want other people to have the same issue as me. I would look into Cricket or Boost Mobile hotspot. Their phone service is great but not the mobile hotspot. I regret ever getting this because it's been nothing but a headache and it's stolen my money with internet I can't even use.

I bought a $50 service card for it a week ago I still don't have it working I've been on straight talk with Straight Talk for 6 hours one day and the thing just still does not work and I'm very upset with it and I probably won't purchase anything else online from Walmart because of it

nonsense the seller didn't scan it and tried to con you into going to store to have it scanned. you do that you pay again or better yet end up in jail for theft as you don't get receipts for online purchases

I was told this Mobile Hotspot box would be plenty to run my TV and my gaming system. Little did I know. Once you hook it up and start using it, it don't take but about 5 hours to use $50 worth of airtime up. Just watching t, v, they should not have lied. To me and should have at least told me. This box is just for extreme emergencies. This is not made to be used at all times I bought this yesterday and have used it for maybe 5 hours and it's empty from $50 worth of airtime. This thing is horrible. I wouldn't recommend buying this thing to my worst enemy.
