Ok, first off, All the reviews made me not want to get this phone, then I decided to give it a try. I'm happy I have now cuz it's nothing what they say really. YES it does have it's occasional times when it will restart itself, but that's only since it needs to reset it's memory to where it can run everything you have it doing. I haven't tried the Wi-Fi on this phone yet considering I don't have access to wireless, but it does pick em up and tells you if they are locked or not. YOUTUBE can not be watched unless you have it on a Wi-Fi connection. Calling is great, it's clear. Picks up service better than my former LG 620G did. 3G connectivity makes web browsing a breeze. The pictures it takes is pretty good and clear. It does run on AT&T so check to see how well they cover your area before picking up one of these phones. Ok so the complaints on the phone I've seen is buttons on the screen being too small. I have pretty good sized fingers and till I used to it, I had a hard time. Over time you learn how to hit the buttons right (in my case just two days). Currently can not find apps that work good on it, yet it does come with Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace preloaded on it. I use the facebook app and it's pretty nice. Has a standard headphone jack like what you would find on an MP3 player so you can hook up and listen to your music. IT WILL BROWSE THE WEB AND TEXT AND EVERYTHING WHILE PLAYING YOUR MUSIC UNLIKE SOME PHONES. The screen has a lock on it, on the side is a lock button, you push that it locks it up. On the screen you can hold a button and it unlocks, or on the side you can hold the lock button and that will unlock it. It is a little slow at booting up, but look at everything it has to load on a small device. I would say no more than 1 minute, if that, it will be ready to go. You can link your email with this phone and when you get an email it will notify you (it's not instant, but it lets you know when you get an email). It has three homepages (all with custom different backgrounds if you want) that hold your widgets. Summary: Video Recording, Video Playback, Pictures, Browser, Games, MP3 player, full qwerty keyboard (when turned sideways), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Connectivity, Voice recognition, and Much More. Widgets: Facebook, Browser, Date, Google Search, Video, Pictures, Music Player, "sticky notes", Bluetooth, Weather, and more. Note--The Widgets are shortcuts on the home pages that make accesing stuff faster. The Facebook widget shows the status updates right on your homepage of the phone. Apps: Facebook, Twitter, Myspace Overall a Great phone so don't hesitate to get it (if AT&T covers your area). Some of these people with reviews are comparing it to a much more expensive phone more than likely and that's why they rated it badly. AND please get screen protectors to keep it working great. Just find some for around 5 dollars that are universal and cut them to size. This will ensure that your screen does work properly for the years to come.
I got my phone from a friend. I have used it for more that 8 months and I love it!! I uploads my pictures to facebook, it gets online quick and i love the wifi. I switched from tracfone to this and best choice ever!!! It's cheaper to buy one month for this phone then just minutes when i need them from the other. Also I live in the middle of no where and I have great service, I rarely lose service.
First off I want to say that this is still a prepaid phone and it is not perfect. But it really is a great phone for the price and the price of the service. I have had Straight talk for two years and I haven't had hardly any trouble. The touchscreen is a little more annoying that expected but then I am getting used to it since I've had it for a couple of weeks now. Keep in mind that the touchscreen keys are small. I also work at walmart and I can say that this phone seems to sell pretty well since they sell fast one day there will be some on the shelf the next day when I go through electronics they are gone. I personally love it and it is affordable. I can get on facebook fine and I get my yahoo email on it as well. Overall it is a great buy for your money you cant beat unlimited data, text and calls for $45 a month. And they also have a blackberry-type phone now if you really need to browse the web and have more than one email synced.
I really love this phone. I was a bit skeptical at first because of all the bad things I've heard about it but I gave it a chance and it turns out it is really good. I like all the apps and the web runs faster than the other ones I've had. I love that it has a good screen on it and the fact that its touch screen. The only issue that I have is that I can't get my wifi to work but other than that I give it two thumbs up.
Well, I got this phone after I returned the Nokia 6790. <-- Terrible phone by the way. But this phones camera is okay, the texting on it is TERRIBLE, it is very slow. So slow words can't describe. And when I got this activated it, the web and all the applications wouldn't work. So, I called straight talk, after about 25 minutes of waiting for someone to answer, I finally got someone on there. I told them about all the problems I had, they said wait 24 hours after activation, then see if it works. So I waited, it was 24 hours after I activated it. The web and apps still weren't working. So once again I called straight talk. They told me something was just wrong witht the web through this phone. And I waited, quite a few days, for the web and applications. I just kept waiting, so I then called Straight Talk AGAIN! They put me on hold, I waited for about 30 minutes. Then I looked at the phone to see what time it was, and they had hung up on me. Very disappointed in Straight Talk, and this phone. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS TO ANYONE!
This phone works well and does not lock up or loose calls other than in no signal areas, If your looking to get apps for this phone beware it only goes to straight talks apps and games and is not an android software. If you have larg fingers it may be difficult to text but if your just a phone user with little texting and minimal internet usage then this would be a good phone for you.
I have had other Straight talk phones. this one is almost impossible to use. The touch sensor is very inaccurate and the screen would sometimes open items without touching it. The browser is very limited and almost useless. I returned it after one day.
While this phone has many great features, they are all very difficult to access. The touch screen is so out of sync it is hard to access any thing and sending messages is almost impossible because you almost never get the "key" you're trying to tap. Don't waste your money!
this phone's touch screen doesn't respond very well, no touch screen calibrate option. can't really seem to do apps other than the built in facebook, i wanted it for maps and can't seem to get that to work despite internet searching and various trials. the buttons on qwerty are too small and it's extremely frustrating to text. if you want a smart phone, get a real smart phone, if you can't afford it, get a regular phone, this one will just annoy you.
I put in my zip code and it said it worked here so I bought it. Guess what it did NOT work here so be careful of that!!!!! this phone runs on AT&T towers so check with ur area, I was told by straight talk a good way to tell if the phones runs on AT&T or Verizon towers is Verizon phones don't have a place to put a sim card and AT&T ones do. Also if on the front bottom left corner of the box it says GSM thats AT&T the Verizon phones has a CDMA-V on them. I thought that was good to know. ok back to the phone I'm a first time touch screen user (just had a flip phone no fancy stuff) so i don't have anything to compare it to but, I thought the key pad was a bit small and hard to use and the widget menu was kind of a pain I didn't like where it was and when I wanted to put a widget back it didn't always go back. ( a widget is like a shortcut icon) I wasn't to impressed Couldn't get service to get on the internet but was told it was a very basic verison no fancy stuff. Im glad it didn't work here I went back to the store got a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim and I LOVE IT!!! bigger screen bigger key pad and easier with the wigets on screen then in a pop out tab, it's a real smartphone :) and it runs on Verizon towers it worked great!! I kept the old phone to have everything transfered over to the new one (they suggested that cause they needed the serial # of the old phone to switch my remaining minutes over) straight talk credited my new phone with what was left on old phone and switched my number over no problems. Then I returned it back to the store no problems. Overall it was ok but I really like my Galaxy better.
