I Love This Iron

This iron isn't expensive yet it does a great job. The weight of the iron is "just right" and it does a good job ironing something the first time around. You can choose to have the steam on all the time or choose to spray as you go. The iron is easy to fill with water and easy to maintain. I bought one in the store, gave it to my daughter, and then bought myself 2 more so I'd have a back-up iron if this one ever stops working -- or I can give the second one as a gift to someone who needs a GOOD IRON.

This iron is the best iron I have ever had. It heats up quickly and it is very durable. It is not really heavy but it has a very good weight to it. I really like the retractable cord feature...you don't have to worry about wrapping the cord up or around the iron. The price is really reasonable...honestly I think this iron could go for about $45 or $50. It is a very nice item...I'm very pleased with it.

I bought this iron March last year. The only issue I had was that it occasionally dripped. I am now just over a week past the warrenty, and it stopped working. I will not be replacing it with the same model. I expect even something on the cheaper side to work past the warrenty period.

Tired of having to buy irons

I grew up using the same iron every day for years with no problems. Now, it seems I have to continually replace them every year or 2. The retractable cord sucks. It NEVER retracts all the way - rendering it a useless feature. The seam where the water storage container and handle meet is now mysteriously leaking. The steam feature works great though... probably my favorite thing about it.

I returned this iron pretty quickly. There are two main issues with it. The non-stick plate, and the retractable cord. This was the first iron we had purchased with a non-stick soleplate, and we will never do it again. It has way too much friction and simply grips the clothes instead of gliding over them smoothly like a stainless steel plate. Perhaps some may like that, but my wife and I both considered it a deal-breaker after just 5 minutes of use. It's very frustrating to iron when the iron is gripping your clothes. I guess the non-stick is to prevent substances from getting burnt onto the plate, which will then prevent it from gliding smoothly over the clothes. The problem is... The non-stick surface itself prevents it from gliding smoothly over the clothes. Take my word for it and choose an iron with a stainless steel plate. The other issue was the retractable cord. It hasn't worked at all. The retractable spring just isn't strong enough to wind-up the cord. We couldn't even get the cord back in there. We always had about two feet of cord still hanging out no matter how many times we pulled it out and tried again. Very pathetic! We ended-up getting the Black & Decker Digital Advantage D1600, which has a stainless steel plate. It was just a little more, but well worth the money. It works wonderfully. I posted a review on it as well.

I bought this iron on Saturday, August 9, 2008 and will be returning it today Monday, August 11, 2008. The iron stuck to my clothes. Did not glide at all over fabrics. Actually fought to move iron over clothes. I ended up with a sore shoulder from using this iron. I have never had a sore arm before from ironing. Non-stick surface was terrible. I am one of those people that really enjoys ironing; however, not with this iron. Will be purchasing a Black & Decker product.

I hated this iron. My main issue with this product was the retractable cord. It took me over five minutes to get it to retract and it still didn't go back in all the way. And when I attempted to use it the next morning, I couldn't get the rest of the cord back out to plug in. I returned this product within two days of purchasing it. Awful!

This is the worst Iron ever.. mpst of the NEGATIVE reviews are true! I'm not having much issue with the sticking part... but the cover for the fill hole is cheap and does not close easily. Comes off half the time and feels think and very breakable. CORD DOES NOT RETRACT!!!! I went to the store and unboxed about 10 of these (after the fact) and ALL of them have the same prob... the cord will not retract fully. Not a spring problem... it feels like the cord jams up at the end of the wind up. I had a panasonic with wind-up cord... was PERFECT. Also... this Sunbeam no-leak iron LEAKS. from the sides. Stand it up full on your ironing board.. will be soaked a few hrs later. Look elsewhere.. find a panasonic if possible. Sunbeam took my sunshine away....

I have always had sunbeam irons. I love them. I have a business that has to have a good iron. This is the first one that I hate. It has a small fill hole. that broke the first time I opened it. When I tried the steam it spilled all over my customers expensive fabric. I will take it back and get another sunbeam model. This one needs to go back to the drawing board.

Awful. Sticks to everything making it difficult to iron, frustrating and time consuming. Had to return it after a few attempts.
