Nice for the Price

I miss these two features on more expensive models. 1. Place to put your foot to hold the reel while winding the hose. This model has stakes that you pound in the ground to hold the unit. But I put it on my deck so it slides a bit while winding and unwinding hose. 2. Automatic hose distribution. This model has a slot for the hose to enter and a manual movement back and forth while winding to distribute the hose evenly on the spool. More expensive models distribute the hose automatically. I priced out these features and decided it wasn't worth the extra money. I miss them a bit but overall am very happy with this unit.

I I purchased garden hose guide from walmart.com my husband needs a new water hose guide and he said he really liked it, because it is not too big he say that it just right for him and he like the wicker pattern

Suncast is the best!

I have 4 Suncast hose hideaway for 20 years and I live in desert. Sun is so strong and so dry. But they lasted this long telles they make a great hose hideaway. I don't abuse, wash them,wipe them and they will last. I decided to replaced all of them for a bigger size even though my garden hoses are 100, 150. More spaces are better. plus they're fading colors. I love this hideaway have a nice looking.

Great

This product is a replacement for a like product purchased maybe 8 years ago. It is still of the great quality the old one. The reason why I replaced it is because the inside fixing was difficult to find a coupling for a new water hose. Otherwise, the product is still good and in working order.

How do I feed hose into it?

I can't figure out how to attach hose to inside plastic piece and not have it get so tight it kinks as soon as it is turned. Is there a way to feed that end thru something to keep start of hose straight and not get kinked? Do I need to have hose on so water feeds into it to keep it from kinking up?

looks nice at first, but has issues.

The guide that the hose runs through doesn't run on a track as the handle is being cranked. So, you have to be careful when winding the hose up that it doesn't bunch in one spot. The guide is a free moving piece that assumes your hose will wind correctly. Also, the top holds water. I have the trashcan and deck box that match this set. I love the way they look, but I would have bought a sturdier hose hideaway.

Buy the Suncast 200 Model

This unit is similar to the Suncast 200 model which is what I thought this was. The 200 features an additional feature which actually guides the hose onto the reel . This model the 175 actually just winds the hose on the reel and you have to guide it while winding (somewhat difficult). The 200 is only $14 more and worth the extra

Bought several last year and like very much. They had tracked hose guide. This one has been cheapened by doing away with that. You must manually guide hose on reel. Not happy with it.

I've Learned My Lesson

I gave a Suncast product another chance. I've found their garden hose caddies unstable and break easily. I just bought the “Hose Hideaway” and secured my garden hose to it. By the way, I have a 100 ft. long hose that cost over $100.00. and is lightweight. So, it's a high quality hose. The first glitch you'll notice with this is that you'll have to securely hold the Hideaway while you roll your hose back into it. Its too lightweight for use on a cement patio. It does come with 2 long hooks that can be inserted in the ground, though. The next glitch is that you have to assure that as you're rolling the hose to keep it away from the sides of the hose roller. If you don't, you'll have to reach in and untangle it. The advertisement says it holds a 100 ft hose, but the sides of the roller that keep the hose on the roller aren't high enough. I learned my lesson and won't buy another Suncast product.

I read the Cancer Warning on Product Label. Should I be worried? I have not touch the Water Hose Box since it was delivered. Please tell me what to do???
