I do have a gravel driveway and it works great on it, because it does not scrape down on the surface but cleans the top layer of snow without "grabbing" stones, rock and grass. I would appreciate a larger blade though, but have not been able to find one in this pusher style that would not scrape the gravel surface.
I seen a few reviews that this was a flimsy shovel. For the price you can't find one close to this. it was exactly what I was looking for maybe not heavy duty but I wanted something light with a hand hold so I think it's great for the money
I would suggest the 27 inch snow pusher with the Centerforce handle grip. That model does a great job for ONE Season. By then the plastic shovel edge has totally worn away since Suncast puts the wear strip on the front of the bottom edge of their shovel instead of on the backside. Totally bad engineering.
Not very rugged. Look for something else.
Who would of thought you could make a bad snow shovel? Well this is it. It has a poor angle on the scoop and you can not get it against the pavement. You can push off the top layer of snow (as implied by the product name) but you must switch to a "traditional" snow shovel to get the rest. So why bother? I just use the traditional shovel made by the same company that I bought from Wal-mart. It works fine and is cheaper.
I am 67 years old 5'8" tall and have SHOVELED snow since I was 8,, This is the WORST one I have seen. The handle alighnment to ground contact does not allow you to scrape drive at all,the main body portion wants to bend then jumps forward skipping over snow. It MAY be alright for someone clearing one half inch of snow but I would not BUY any product by this company again just because they should be ashamed of selling this. I have used this shovel once on Dec 29 2012 and threw it away.
The shovel is the worst snow shovel ever.
I should have read the earlier review first, purchaser had same complaint. I have tried to use this two times on snowy days and because of the effort required I have given up and trashed it due to bad design of blade. The plastic blade bend upward results in the front edge not contacting the payment unless you hold the pole almost straight up near 90 degrees. No way they could have tested this design out before manufacturing them and I will now avoid all Suncast products.
