I bought this product for my mom as a way of getting rid of the rice storage container she would never throw away and became a bunt of family jokes. After years of using an old battered beat up 1 gallon jug she ducted taped over and over to store her rice, that was that when I saw this product. She received it and was totally thrilled. She had always wanted one and never could afford it. The whole product is very useful, consumer friendly and easy to store and dispense rice. The products appearance and durability looks great as well as the design purpose. She's enjoys it so much I am purchasing one myself for my household.
Works as advertised. Only problem is if you do not push the lever all the way down before releasing it. The gate can jam and "trickle" rice through.
As a rice canister, the old popcorn can I was using needed to be replaced. I stopped in at the two larger Asian supermarkets in our area, but neither carried rice dispensers anymore. I shopped online and favorable reviews for this product and the best price (given the free Site-to-Store shipping) here at Walmart.com. I'm very pleased with it.
If you eat rice a lot this is a must have. It is so nice to not trip over bags of rice or try to find containers to store rice in. It is also nice that you don't have to worry about measuring the rice, just push the lever and you get what you want.
So far it has met my expectation but then again it's a dispenser. Overall quality is fine and I like that it's compact to fit in one of the cabinets.
i love this rice dispenser... the size is just right, it can fit inside a small pantry or it even look neat on top of the counter. i own a bigger rice dispenser that i'm using since 1996 up to now (that can store up to 50 lbs. of rice) it's kinda too big for my kitchen & also time about time to retire/upgrade... that's why i'm replacing it. i hope this product will outlast my old one.
One thing that would make this product even better is if it didn't look too much like a computer in a kitchen. Although I'm glad it doesn't have flowers like the ones I normally out there. Other than that, it works perfectly & fits right under my cabinets. Very discreet.
Good product but the design is lacking. The storage container can hold 50 lbs easily. but the design is such that it holds only 22 lbs. The dispensing mechanism takes more than half the volume of the box. I had to buy 2 to hold a 50 lb bag.

It's very basic - a plastic box that holds rice. Not sure it's worth $50, as I purchased it mainly for the rice dispenser function. Turns out, it doesn't work well at all. When dispensing 2-3 cups (each lever push is 1 cup) it varies tremendously. Sometimes you'll get under 2 cups, other times over 3 cups, but it's not accurate at all. If you're getting this for the dispenser function, don't bother - you're better off buying a cheap $10 plastic tub and measuring it yourself.
