It's huge for a steelbook
This collectible tin star is by far the best packaging I've seen. What brings it up a notch is that it comes with a stand. Plus, the movie is amazing to watch and rich in color.
Whenever one of my favorite franchises releases a movie I always enjoy getting the limited edition collectors edition when I can. This especially goes for the star tin

The item was fine, but I wonder how an almost empty small bag of Doritos wound up in the box as well?

Packaging arrived all smashed to heck. Definitely not what you want to see for a limited-edition gift set. Thankfully, I had no plans of actually gifting it to anyone, but there was no chance that I'd be able to display the tin star in its packaging. The tin star itself is no where near as vibrant as the promotional images suggest; the printing is rather dull and lifeless. The eyes are three-dimenionally pressed into the metal lid, which is a nice touch. The main issue is with the clear acrylic stand that comes unassembled in the box. The tab that is machined into the bottom of the vertical support of the stand is not sized properly to fit into the slot in the base. It took considerable force, much rocking back and forth, and just general brute-force to even get the insertion started. Pounding the base on a table while pushing down on the vertical stand repeatedly seemed to help nudge the piece in ever so slightly, but it got to a point where it wasn't going in anymore despite my not-so-gentle coaxing -- and then I realized that the base had formed a crack after forcing too large of an object into too small of a hole. I would have preferred a looser fit so that the two pieces could have been joined with some CA glue or just friction, but as it is, the stand sits about 1mm proud of the base, and it's cracked obviously. So yeah, that's awesome: smashed packaging and a cracked stand. At least the movie is good, and my son still enjoys it even after multiple viewings. 4K UHD is great for this film, especially in the small details like hair and fur.
This review is of this special edition, not the movie itself. As of this writing the regular 4K version of this movie is about $11 cheaper than this special edition. Unfortunately, this version is not worth the extra money. The pictures are very misleading, it makes it seem like it'll be a 3D shaped super star from the movie. However, what you get is a flat, cheap, star-shaped tin. The tin is so cheap that it feels like it could bend and dent just by handling it. The stand that it comes with feels really solid and has magnets to hold the star in place, unfortunately the ton of the star feels so low quality that I worry it'll get scratched by the base. Not worth it.

Was not happy with the way they shipped this at all. I am a collector and they smashed the box to make it fit.
