Right out of the box all I did was unplug my stuff ( cameras with microphones built in) from my VCR's and plug them into this security DCR and turn it on and it was up and running! Everything was included like 4 connector adapters (BNC to RCA for cameras) and a cable for video (BNC to RCA ) for the TV. I use the remote control and now have the advantage of 4 cameras on one screen with mixed audio from all four cameras or select each individual camera with it's sound. I loaded the included PC software onto my PC and use a USB memory stick to load files from the security DVR then plug the memory stick into my PC and load them onto the PC and view them with sound just like the DVR view. Also included was software to view , edit, take a photo clip and save. An additional function I did not have with the VCRs is the ability to view in reverse. What's really nice is using the computer to select files to view and not have to go thru a VCR tape! I am using some motion detect (included software video detection) and some schedueled recording time. Finding this on the Walmart site made it easy to get, thanks. Roger
We had our security system installed with products from Platinum CCTV Surveillance Solutions and their security camera dvr was overheating breaking down within the hour, we had to return it three times. We were so frustrated since we had spent so much money and still no security. Until I saw this dvr online at walmart. It took us only 5 minutes to put it ( we had everything in order from the previous dvr ) and it worked like a charm. The menu is so easy to use, the manual is very professionallyl written and the customer service was very easy to reach ( had to wait 5 minutes ) and they answered my questions. We have it for a month it doesn't overheat and playbacks the images in the same quality as it records ( quite the opposite of our previous dvr ). It was a great relief for us and now we know we have security for our house.
