Samsung Galaxy S III is a great phone

I'm still learning the features and some of the things this phone can do. I haven't been much of a smart phone fan, but the GS3 is so far a great phone. It is fast, reliable, and efficient. I'm doing things that I didn't do before on the phone. The interface is bright and now I have enough memory to add the apps I want without fear that my hard drive is dwindling to fast.

Great price for a great phone!

The phone is fast and good. Why spend double for the S4? It has a nice large bright screen and a good camera. I am very satisfied with the purchase. Titanium was not an option for me, but white is fine too. The cover I got covers most of the white...problem solved.

I like this mobile in all the way. It is light weight, good touch screen, good battery life, good wifi and 4G LTE speed, all good apps and enough memory to install new app. I have only one query related to memory is, as per specification it should have 16GB memory but in actual it has only 12GB memory. So want to know where the 4GB get laps. Please let me know bcoz i know Android OS will not take such big space.

I love my new S3! If your already a T-Mobile customer who wants to upgrade your smartphone, don't be afraid to go with this. It comes with a SIM card, and you just save you contacts to your SD card, and call T-Mobile customer service to activate the SIM card, and your good to go! T-mobile cost for S3 is $472...at Walmart $300 - it's a no brainer!

Awesome T~Mobile Prepaid Phone/Great Price

Phone was just what I hoped. Works prefect on the T Mobile prepaid network particularly on the Walmart 5gb $30.00 per month plan. Website says this phone will not work in my zip code but the website is wrong. I even get 4g LTE, not just 4g. Great purchase!

I use this with TMO's $30 100 min talk, unlimited text & data plan (the Walmart plan). TMO no longer sells this model, but it has all the features I need, and $300 for a feature rich smartphone is a very good price. A new phone sells for more on eBay. I replaced a Galaxy S 2, which has a 4 inch screen. I like the larger 4.8" screen. I wish the screen weren't glossy, but all phone screens are. Like all smart phones, it is loaded with apps you probably don't want, but can't remove unless you root the phone, which I don't intend to do. The screen is nice & the phone is easy to operate. I have had it for a few weeks now, and it has never frozen or had any problem. Battery life is OK unless you use battery eating apps/features such as wifi or GPS for an extended period. I like that it has a user replaceable battery. It would have been nice if it used the same size batteries as my S2, but it doesn't. You also need to spend some time tweaking the settings, or you will be overwhelmed by notifications. It would also be nice if it were easy to sync Android phones with Outlook, but that is really a Google issue, not a Samsung issue. This phone runs Android 4.3, and TMO is unlikely to upgrade it to KitKat, not a big deal in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this phone.

I called tmobile to verify that my hunch would work. I can use this phone with my regular tmobile service not just the prepaid. they said it was a really good price and that even though the walmart website stated the phone would not work in my area tmobile said it would...I got it last week and it is great, the best smartphone out there right now for the price. my family ownes 4 now. purchased the ottor box for it and it is great also. Have tmobile get you a free sim card for it and you will not be dissappointed.... it beat tmobiles price by $150

Fast phone but no LTE on Prepaid

The Samsung Galaxy S3 4G LTE seems to be a great phone, got it for $299 at Walmart two weeks ago. It was easy to get it delivered to the store (go to online customer service in the back, not regular customer service). Although it says LTE, we cannot get LTE, probably because we have the $30 month prepaid plan. We live in the Washington DC suburbs which supposedly has LTE. We tried all over DC. The phone is big and beautiful. Swype works well, better than our old Samsung Exhibit II, much faster. The interface is typically Galaxy, with 7 home screens. It has too much pre-installed software. It has a good method for removing anything you don't want to see on your home screens. I loaded about 30 of my favorite apps that I had before on the Exhibit II. It's easier to do from your laptop. Just plug the phone into the USB port, then bring up Google Play Store. The click on 'my apps' and it will bring up a list of all the apps you already have installed on your old phone. You just select all the ones you want and then it is easy to install them on the new phone. I wish T-Mobile had better coverage in rural areas, such as state and national parks and in West Virginia. WV coverage is mostly non-existent. So there is no data roaming, no nothing. But that's not a problem with the phone, only with coverage areas. (With Simple Choice, you get SOME data roaming; with prepaid, you no ZERO data roaming). I might upgrade. The phone is pretty, very slick, and a bargain at $299. There's really no reason to go with a S4 for the price. There's no FM radio in the North American version of the S3, unfortunately because that's one reason I picked it. The international version does have a FM radio. The S4 does not have a FM radio. I love FM radio because I like to listen to the news (love WTOP and WAMU). Internet radio is basically a disaster, dependent on perfect and fast 4G and good streaming, which is hard to get consistently. Now I have to carry a separate FM radio. We should pressure the FCC to require FM radios (it's being discussed in many circles but the phone companies want to tie us into their on-line streaming which is very limited). I love the Android system, this phone has Jelly Bean so it isn't the latest, and is now a 2-year old phone. If you like the latest, get ice cream sandwich OS. I also like staying with Android because I use all systems Google: gmail, contacts, calender, drive, etc., Everything syncs automatically with my laptop all day long, which is wonderful. By the time I'm at an appointment, it's synced. Concerning maps, they could be better. When I go to my google contacts and get a street address, it only lets me bring up Maps. An improvement would be to let me also bring up Navigation. Now I have to either remember and type in or speak the address to get navigation unless I'm missing something. No manual comes with the phone. So I downloaded a .pdf of the manual which is about 370 pages. So it is tedious and slow to find items in it. I like the small reduced manual that I got with my Samsung Exhibit II two years ago, but that was my first smartphone.

GS3 has almost all the features of GS4 and is substantially cheaper. It is a great value. It is even better value when you pair it with the Walmart Family Mobile plan. Although not advertised as such, you get T-Mobile 4G speed on this network if you have a 4G capable phone. And, if you ever want to move away from the T-Mobile network, T-Mobile will unlock this pre-paid phone for you. I left off one star on value because I think the phone could be a bit cheaper. Same phone from another pre-paid network is cheaper.

My old android met it's demise and I was in the market for a replacement for my contract T-Mobile phone. After reading the specs of the device I was exited to be making this purchase. A 1.4Ghz quad core processor and 2Gb of ram! Unfortunately when I got to my local Walmart, this box for this phone says that it has a 1.5Ghz dual core processor and after running a the AnTuTu benchmark app I installed, I discovered that it only has 1.5Gb of ram and its benchmark scored much lower than a standard Galaxy S3. It's still a nice phone but at the very least, the description needs to be accurate. Most people might not notice it, but for the tech savvy, slightly ocd consumer, it's frustrating.
