I bought a health o meter scale at walmart locally and wound up taking it back because it was erratic and half the time i had to step on it more than once to get a reading as it was picky too. not so with this scale. This scale reads my weight every time i step on it, and the body fat and hydration work great. It does seem to weigh me a couple pounds less than my other scale did (i'm not complaining), but so does my doctor's scale too. The only feature i wish it had was to have it memorize my previous weights. but that's just fine since it's accurate and that's really all my scale needs to be for me to like it.
this scale works great and is very consistent. my only complaint is that the numbers don't stay up long enough.
The one thing I loved about this scale after purchasing it is, ITS CONSISTENT. So far with all the scales, I had to take 4-5 readings at a time to make out a consistent one. But not with this scale. It's very consistent and reliable.
I like it for what its suppose to be used for but it turns off right after you see how much you weigh. (With new rechargable batteries) The batteries it came with were dead...But the scale is pretty accurate. :)
I got this scale about a week ago. It works on and off. You turn it on and wait for it to zero out (can do that with your foot) and step on. About half the time it will "think" for a while and go blank. I will probably return it.
This scale is very touchy, try not to bump it or drop it, otherwise it is very temperamental. However, it did recover. Some notes on usage, stand completely still. I noticed any slight movement and the scale will time out. Also, if you are trying to weigh luggage with your body weight or just the luggage alone, it will not register and just time out. The display is hard to read if direct light is not on it (I tend to have low lighting in my apartment so I have to reposition it to use it or get a flashlight. The LCD display segments are large enough to see, but you must have adequate light and preferably no glare on the screen. Using the Fat% and Water% requires your feet to be moist (indicated in directions, "better to use after taking a shower/bath" and confirmed [just dry your feet off with a towel before stepping on it]). I have dry feet and had to stand on the scale by hanging off for it to register, not really an issue for me though. The overall aesthetics, it looks nice. But it is very light (maybe not a problem) making it feel very fragile and Cheap. But, in the end you get what you paid for and it works find for me.
Based on reviews I thought this scale was what I was looking for, but I did not like the font color read out of the weight and the fact that before I was able to read the information the scale, the scale turns off automatically. The font is not black, it blends in too much of the display coloring and is very hard to read. There are no functions on the scale to brighten the numbers or to keep the infomation on the screen for a longer period of time.
The scale does not seem to always be accurate. It is also hard to read the display. Day after day the reading was the same, lbs and ozs, which was hard to believe. I placed an item on the scale which weighed about 11 lbs. It weighed it, and then I stepped back on my weight finally changed. I am not sure I trust the weight, and often put a small item on the scale to adjust the weight. I honestly wish I had returned the scale, but by the time I realized it was a dud, I felt it was too late to return. It may work for others, but it did not work for me. There were supposed to be other features, but they don't seem to work. Sorry to be so negative, just being honest.
I can't get the scale to display the Body Fat measurements. After spending 20 min on the phone with the designated 800# to resolve the problem, all the representative could suggest was to return it. They fail to tell you that if you have any hip or knee joint replacements or rough/callous skin on your feet it won't work properly. I have neither but still can't get it to work. The display is a nice size and easy to read and I haven''t had problems with it timing out on me. The batteries it came with were corroded (sp) but that's not such a big deal.
Too hard to use. You have to wet your feet most times to use if you do not have sweaty feet. Then I had problems getting it to do the other things it said it could do. I have 3 other people in my house and they had trouble with it too. I gave mine away and bought another brand.
