I received the Tazz K42 yesterday. I was disappointed in condition of the shipping box. FedEx was pretty hard on the product during shipping. That said the Tazz K42 survived in good shape. Assembly was easy and took no more than 30 minutes. The Briggs and Stratton engine came to life on the second gentle pull. Iâve used the unit for 2 hours so far. The largest branches were around 2â. The Tazz handled everything without any stress. The quality of the unit is excellent and I am Very please that I ordered the one with the Briggs and Stratton engine. It is smooth running and a true workhorse. The Tazz K42 has earned a 5 star rating. It offers excellent quality and is a true value.
I have now used this to chip and shred a bunch of limbs. It works great and does as advertised. For the money I spent on it I am happy to say it is worth it. Going to get the vacuum attachment for it this fall to do my leaves with.
I bought this less than a year ago and have used it twice to shred leaves and some small branches. Based on my experience assembling the unit and using it I can tell that this will be an outstanding product. It is well constructed of heavy materials and has a powerful Briggs&Stratton engine. Just follow the directions on how to use it and you will get years of hard work out of this machine.
I am completely satisfied with this powerful chipper shredder. I planned to use this for grinding general brush and leaf shredding. Great for that, But we unexpectedly had several large tree limbs fully leaf laden blow down early Fall, and this Tazz ate them up, no problem!
We got last fall, and did all our acres leaves into mulch for the beds. This spring we did overgrown trees and got another 3yards of mulch. Love it!
I bought this unit 7 months ago and I love it. I used through tthe fall and nowwinter and spring. I have used it to suck up and grind leaves and chip a ton of branches. Mechanically everything has worked as it supposed to. The reason I give it 4 stars is the2 straps on the bag that hold it up have boken off and the plastc piece that attaches hose to the back has metal bolts that go through it and they have egged out so I need to order a new one. This should be made of metal. I would buy it again. Making yard cleanup alot easier and faster.
Bought shedder 4 months ago to get rid of leaves. The collection bag seam came open after just 2-3 bags of leaves were shred. Had seam restiched and added a additional layer of fabric on inside of seam. This worked good for 5 or 6 bags of shredded leaves and then holes appeared along the outer edge of reinforced seam. Requested a new bag, which came without the zip tie band to attach it to metal ring. Requested the zip tie and it came with additional metal parts I did not need. Shredder enough leaves to make about 30 bags of mulch this Fall and engine starts almost every time on first pull. Shreds leaves to a good mulch size in about a 10 to 1 ratio (10 bags of leaves make one bag of mulch). Collection bag is the only issue I have with this shredder.
This machine does the job. Branches up to 3 inches thick are pulverized in seconds. When the 'start' settings are properly set, it starts up with just a few pulls. Since the center of gravity is a bit high, be careful and have sure footing (you and the machine). Unfortunately the packing wasn't perfect. The hopper was dented and the lip that attaches to the main chassis was bent. I bent it back with pliers. Some dust blows out this seam when chipping so I duct taped it. Also, there was not dip stick or a bottom drain plug. Drain dirty oil (and it did get dirty quick) by tilting into an oil drain pan You can measure out the recommended oil in a container or just fill until it overflows...I recommend measuring it out. In conclusion, it is compact and fits easily in my garage, starts okay, and pulverizes branches into fine chips, but it could have been better. It is expensive (but all gasoline-powered chippers are). Aside from some annoyances, it works for me!
received with front axel bent severely. got it to roll eventually. serviced with the recommended full synthetic and it fired right up and did great in all aspects providing finer chips than previously with the Roto-hoe.. works well in all applications stated except pulling the unit around the yard takes care/effort but doable. have about 4 hours flawless run time so far. the briggs engine on the Roto Hoe still runs so my hopes are up for this Taz to last.
Purchased unit for property clean up prior to annual fire season in Northern California. Have used unit to chip oak tree limbs (up to 2" dia.) and blackberry vines. Unit operates as advertised, operator just has to be patient about not overloading unit. For it's size it gets the job done. Briggs and Stratton engine has started without trouble each time, I use a fuel stabilizer when storing the unit, and try to plan my work so I can fill tank with fresh fuel for each operating period.
