Just what I needed -- a decent turntable to play my old LPs. Haven't converted to CD with that feature, but not interested in that. Sounds good. Packaged well. Comes with lots of extras for cleaning and needle too. FAST shipping. Fits the bill for me.

I purchased the turntable with the intention of converting my old vinyl records to digital music. Not only was it easy to use ( and I know I haven't figured out all the bells and whistles yet) but the quality of the sound is very good. It also allows me to eliminate the pops and cracks you hear in all the old records. All in all I fee this was a great value for less than $100.

I don't agree with 'TheKid72' review. Mine works great and I like that it comes with cleaning kit, USB cable and cover. Family likes it b/c simple and easy to use. Does the job for us. LP's are converting and sounding good. Nice price.

Turntable arrived quickly, was easy to set up and works very well. I've tried transferring LPs to computer and then to CD, but so far haven't been able to get on to a CD. This is an operator problem, however. The software is a bit difficult for me to understand but I haven't given up. Using the turntable with my stereo system is just fine. Occasionally the tone arm doesn't return to the rest when a record has finished but the controls are easy to get to so I manually return it. Overall I'm very satisfied with this turntable.

Ordered it late on Thursday night, by Saturday (same week) it was on my front porch. Thank you Walmart. Took it out of the box, plugged it in, loaded the software and began the transfer from turntable to computer to mp3 files then to an audio CD. This turntable is great. Software does what I need it to do too. Like one review states that you can't have different tracks on the same project, well work around it...open a new project and you have your different tracks. Be sure to load the "lame_enc.dll" software as instructed in the manual for converting to mp3 files. Once again, thank you Walmart.

OK, so I can play my records. I can use my computer to rip my records to CD's or MP3's. However, the software that comes with it (Audacity) does not save as MP3 unless you download an extra piece that I was unable to find. I guess that's typical however, since another program I tried, Goldwave, needed the same missing .dll to convert to MP3 - at least it offered to go out and get it for me. You also cannot listen to the music being played unless you hook the player up to an actual stereo (or other device with standard red/white RCA jacks). The sound goes from the turntable to the computer via USB, but you can't hear it through your speakers until you playback what you've recorded. It's working, and after some tweaking I am now able to successfully rip my albums. I'd say it's worth the money if you're willing to fiddle with it.

This turntable did exactly what I wanted it to do, play my mothers old 45s and convert them to MP3. Its nothing fancy, but for the money it was worth it. Comes with a CD program that is very basic. Hooks directly to the computer. Comes with a cleaning kit and extra stylus, that was a nice touch. Plays 45s, 33s, and 78s. I was satisfied with the product.

I bought this for my dad as a Christmas present. He found it on the website and checked this one as well as others and based on the description, decided he wanted this one. It plays records when hooked up to a radio, but after following all instructions to a T, it would not record to his computer. Also, if it would have worked, you can't listen to the record while it records so if it skips, you won't know it until it is done. He noticed several other reviews said these same comments. Not what we expected, will be returning it.

The turntable itself is fine. The problem lies in the "recording software" that is included with unit. It is basic recording FREEWARE called Audacity. I found this out because I was having so much trouble trying to figure it all out, that I sought the company's website for help. It turns out that not only was the software not designed for this use, but the version that came with the turntable was 3 versions out of date!!!! The recording process is so complex, that it took almost an hour and a quarter to record one album. And you can't hear the music while it's being recorded, so you have to watch the sound graphs for when each track ends so that you can stop the turntable and the software and finish the process by typing in the title, artist, track number, and year, and then "exporting" the recorded data (And re-entering the title again) to the harddrive after choosing what format to export it as. (MP3, WAV, etc.) I spoke with my brother who has a different unit with different software, and he said that it couldn't have been easier, so he's going to do mine (except the one I managed to finish) for free, and I'm taking this back to Wal-Mart.

Beware of the ceramic cartridge on this unit

USB turntables have sure been handy for use with computers. Connections can be a simple as pulling a USB cord off from your printer and connecting it to your turtable. Then when you are done - just reconnect the printer (or whichever item you disconnected) and go on. Just one important heads-up on this model - it uses the same record player mechanism that is found in most "nostalgia" systems. With that comes a ceramic cartridge vs. the light tracking magnetic cartridge found in the majority of USB and entry level turntables with built-in preamplifiers (Note that the preamplifier is needed for the magnetic cartridge - the ceramic cartridge used here can connect directly to an auxiliary input, no preamp is needed). This unit will be fine for old worn LPs, but don't trust your vinyl treasures to it.
