Great pump for the price. Maybe a little smaller than I would have liked but that's my fault, not the pumps. It's doing a great job and I have no complaints.
We've run these pumps in our ponds for more than 15 years and we've never had an issue. Very efficient and they run 24 hours/365 days a year with zero complaints! I have a hard time believing there could be a better pump out there.
This is the 2nd of this type / brand of pump we've owned. The first one lasted 8+ years and kept the pond very happy. We have a 900+ gallon pond with large goldfish that we "rescue" from the bait store. :-)
Havr had mine in my pond for 4 years and it is powerful and dependable. Even with decomposing lily debris and leaves it never slows down or gets clogged. When it ever dies I'm getting another one.
I originally thought this pump was going to be too powerful for my pond but I called Tetra Pond's customer service and they assured me this was what I needed. I ran the pipe and hooked it up. I started the pump expecting water to be running everywhere but the pump was indeed exactly what I needed. It is extremely quiet and is very effective.
I've owned an OFX11500 (earlier model, UK) for 21 years now. Zero maintenance other than cleaning the exterior. Turned on and off daily and off all winter submerged in ice, never an issue. I'm so grateful to see that they are still available, if mine ever dies.
This is my second debris handling pump and I continue to be satisfied with construction and dependability of these care free pumps. My fish love the flow rate.
Made a big difference to clarity of water and strength of waterfall. Cut down on pond maintenance time. Makes the pond more relaxing. The one thing I noticed was that, since it lets smaller particles through, I need to clean the filter pads more often. Small price to pay!
This is my second pump. The first one is 7 years old and still going strong. So easy to use, just hook it up and plug it in. No prefilters to mess with. It's a messy pond with turtles and I've never had it clog up. They cost a little more than some pumps but you'll save even more by not having to buy a new one every couple of years.
I have been using this product since 2000 and I would recommend it to anyone with a koi pond. I have three OFX-4000 ((DHP-4200) and they are wonderful. These powerful pumps work great when you have waterfalls. I use mine all year long and with normal maintenance they will last you for years to come.
