These filter cartridges seem to be working just fine.
I finally found a filter that fit in my oddly shaped aquarium and it does a great job of cleaning out the algae in there. Just remember to rinse out the charcoal dust before installing it because it's toxic to fish.
Good filters. They keep the tank nice and clean.

I bought a small fish tank at walmart.com and it said these are the cartridges that go with the filter. Upon receiving the tank, the filters did not fit so I'm not sure why the website suggested them to me with my tank purchase. I had the tank disassembled for cleaning and when I went to put it back together and found the cartridges didn't fit the filter I was quite irritated as I had to run out and try to find the correct filters. Not really how I had planned to spend my only day off of the week!!
Got a hex 5gal tank that I have at my business since this little tank has a filter/ light unit that is sealed and specifically designed exactly to fit this unique tank. The filter cartridges are rarely in stock but MOST EXPENSIVE. For what they are I felt ripped off. But even more so when i saw HOW LITTLE carbon/ charcoal was INVOLVED. Since this is what cleans the water I was not pleased but had to have this SPACIFIC size so I bought them. Keeping in mind I've had a huge hex tank in my living room for 30 years now. And have never had filter problems b4. As I use Penguin products. These little cartridges are a WASTE OF MONEY.Couldn't figure out why the tank was ALWAYS cloudy. Never looked clean. I put 2 of them in. It DID clear up. But only lasted 2 days and cloudy again. Even drained water and cleaned glass on inside. Siphon tube EVERYTHING. I didnt realize how bad the cartridges were until I Went to local pet store and got some Marina T100 cartridges. For less money.And PACKED with charcoal. Within 24 hours it was sparkling clean again. Imagine that.
Dont help keep tank clean
overpriced, ineffective, no other choice, as dedicated brand; at least they're a little cheaper at walmart.
