Best dash camera I've ever had! I was initially cross-shopping it with the Blackvue DR900S-2CH and decided on this camera set due to it being able to record a higher resolution for the rear camera. I also read that it had better thermal resistance capabilities when sitting in a hot car. So far, it's fitting the bill. I am able to download the recordings from the camera to my Samsung phone easily and quickly. I like it so much I recommend it to my friend who also just bought one.
The U1000 model features are frankly hard to beat. You get a boatload of optional safety features you can turn on or off, which provide audible warning signals depending on the feature. I purchased this model in part because these types of features are not built into my vehicle. Overall the video is clear with no issues there. My only gripe for now is the macOS viewing app, as that is in desperate need of an update. If you're running an updated version of macOS, you will run into errors as the software application has not yet been digitally signed by Thinkware.
I have had this camera for over a year now and I really do like it. It's slim, sturdy, doesn't shake, and has amazing image quality. App set-up was easy (even for a novice) and straight forward. I was hesitant at first as my previous Dash Cam didn't require any "app" to set it up. I'm not real good with electronic equipment so I was a bit nervous. However, after a few hiccups, I had it up and running in no time. I feel this is an excellent dash cam and I'm glad I bought it.
Initially, nothing worked. After contacting support, I found that the problem was my cellular service. Changed service everything worked perfectly. The videos are crisp clear. I am presently testing the RADAR to determine the affects on my battery, but after having 2 other dash-cam systems, I think that I have found the ONE!
I would have provided a 5 star; however, I still can't get it to link to my cell phone. I've removed the chip a few times and the video is perfect.
I recently purchased the U 1000 camera it is a wonderful machine. I only find one fault, it's with the mounting system. In the summer heat the glue on the windshield mounting gives out. You need to design a suction cup style for that unit. It would also help when moving it into other vehicles. Customer service was excellent.
I had the U1000 professionally installed into a 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid. The last 3 days or so while I'm commuting, the unit announces "parking recording will now start" while I'm driving. Naturally, it beeps every 10 seconds in this mode which is really annoying. Half the time, after about 20 minutes or so, the unit goes back to continuous recording, as if I'd started the car up. While I know the recording is happening, now I have to check both continuous and parking folders for any video clips I need. I've not had this problem with the same unit in my other cars, but those are gas powered. Seems the on-off nature of the gas engines in hybrids really confuses the U1000.
I have had the U1000 for just over 2 years now. It has been the best dash cam I have had but sadly now it won't even turn on. I'm hopeful I can get some help with this problem
The camera shows the front car plate only, it does not show the car plate on the side of the line, and the app does not work smoothly You cannot see the video clearly before downloading it to your phone .The video is not running smoothly
THIS U1000 WORK FOR TWO SECONDS, THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE! DID NOT WORK, I RETURNED IT.
