It came out of the box perfectly. I tested. It functioned as expected. Hope it last long. Beginners, however, could have a little trouble of how to put it to work because the manual that went with the jack did not describe much. I did not use a floor jack for a long time, and so, was not very sure how to use it initially. I went on the internet and found the info I needed.
I have had this Torin aluminum jack for at least 6 years. Bought it at Walmart. I was skeptical because it is half the size and weight of my old cast iron jack. I was impressed. This is a quality floor jack. No problems in 6+ years of medium duty homeowner use. Very light compared to the steel models. I'm so happy I will buy another one to use with it.
Well built, light enough to carry with ease. Not a lot of lift height but it is a compact jack. Comes assembled except for handle.

I bought this same jack at Harbor Freight for $70. It is an excellent jack. I have had it for three years now and it still works.
only made for small cars. will not lift SUV's or Trucks. the jack will not go up high enough.
There is no mention about the lifting range of this Jack. If it is 13-15 inches maximum height, I will not recommend it to anyone. I do not understand why they ever make jacks with maximum height lift of 13 or 14 inches. They are useless. My advice to you is to Look for garage jacks with the minimum height lift of 19 inches.
