we both love our new phones and I would recommend them to everyone. The other phone we had through straight talk we couldn't hear them when they would ring and I had a hard time answering a call. So much better.
My carrier i actually Tracfone but the HW for the phone ought to be the same I bought this phone b/c it was 174 times more powerful than my last Android Tracfone {ZTE Valet} I actually love it! BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and this is a huge deal breaker had I known prior to purchasing.... INTERNAL STORAGE IS ONLY 2GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whats worse is that Android Kitkat DOES NOT allow you to transfer apps to SD card. So only buy this phone if you plan on installing 8-10 apps; more like 8 if you use FB & FB messenger. I've actually had to delete some b/c I can't install updates! Including NONE of the google apps to be updated. It makes the phone so less desirable than it could be! I would have gladly paid another $50 for 2-4GB more storage. Come on!! What year is this? 2007???
I bought the Tracfone version of this model & had it for less than 2 months & the charger port broke. Waste of $
I purchased two of these phones when moving my wife and I to Total Wireless migrating from Straight Talk and Tracfone. Initially Total Wireless was difficult to transfer numbers over from the two services, but after several phone calls and quite a bit of time on the phone we finally got migrated. Have had a few minor problems with Customer Service since then, but have managed to get through. SPECIFiCALLY on these phones both my wife aod I have started having problems on each of our phones. I have noticed that my phone would not connect to my router in my house? I finally had to "forget" my router, and reconnect. Although the phone still seems to not see the router from time to time. I have checked router with other devices, including IPads, and the router seems to work fine. Yesterday my phone completely forgot the two Bluetooth devices it was previously paired with one being my car? I had noticed that the phone was being dropped from Bluetooth when driving in my car from time to time. Yesterday my wife's phone has started not connecting via Bluetooth to her car? She pulled over and looked over at the phone and the phone was frozen. She restarted the car and the phone, but the phone will not fully connect to the car, the phone rings through the car but you cannot talk or hear through the car. Last night I spent over an hour on Total Wireless tech support, and they finally had me completely reset my phone. They said if the problems arise again they would consider replacing my phone. These phones are NOT reliable! Walmart return policy is 2 weeks on cell phones. I have had my phones around 6 weeks.
Freezes up 75% of the time. All apps randomly crash/close. Touch screen not very responsive. As time has went on, it has gotten worse; to the point it now won't open any apps and barely will open text half the time. I normally do not write reviews for products, but this "phone" has been such a horrendous piece of junk, I felt obliged to warn interested people. I bought one of these back when they were $150. I wasn't expecting Galaxy s6 for this price, but this has got to be hands down the worst phone I have ever had. After reading many other reviews from other sites as well (wish I had done before I bought it) it seems to be the general consensus. Stay far away from Alcatel. Far, far away.
This phone creates its own problems, I have had problems with it since I bought it, and have called Tracfone from the beginning, but guess what, now it is out of warrantee and I can't do anything about it. It will dial numbers in my phone book, out of the blue. Last time I tried to use it, it kept punching numbers all thru the phone call, I tried three times, and finally had to go talk to the person in person who I was trying to call. A few days earlier I tried to call a friend and it dialed someone else, did that 4 times, called the same person, not the one who I was trying to dial. The battery lasts less than 2 days, so I have to make sure I keep it plugged in every day. I bought it because it had a large screen. I wish I had read these reviews before I bought it but unfortunately I bought it straight from Tracfone, not Wal Mart.
I've had this phone about 6 months, it's the second one, as I had problems with first, I thought were just a glitch with that phone. -Wrong - when I finally called customer service they tried to have me reset so I'd loose everything. He didn't seem to understand it was the phone not service. Service is fine. When set to message alert it says a bunch of weird stuff like "call from greater than, 555-555, lest than" It won't give voice message for incoming call, such as "call from" Last straw when I use talk text, besides usually messing up words. I can't answer or make other calls, or text as the screen freezes with the black bar that has mic on it. I have to turn it off and restart. It is not server, Total Wireless is fine, sister company to straight talk - It's the phone, So been going nuts trying to find new phone I might like at decent price. There seem to be no unlocked phones that are compatible, this is after hours of research I like the size and don't want to go back smaller -1/2 inch makes big difference
This phone is a complete waste of money. Why advertise that you can get 1,000,00 apps when you put two on the phone and get error messages that there is no room when you try to load another. I have disabled all the factory installed apps that is possible. I am constantly getting error messages. SO VERY UPHAPPY. Called total wireless this morning to ask for only a partial refund to no avail.
This is the WORST phone ever. Has no no storage and adding an SD card does not help because you cannot download apps to the SD card or move them from phone storage to the SD card. After 1 month of owning the phone, you will not be able to make calls or send text messages because the memory is full!
I agree with previous people that commented on the memory. I tried downloading an app to move files to my SD card and I was still unable to move things over to my SD card. I finally had to delete my photo's off and have limited apps downloaded and still have to delete things daily because my phone keeps saying that my memory is limited and some functions may not work. I am only on here looking at it now because I decided that I have to purchase a new phone because I can't keep deleting things and wanted to make sure that I get something that has better storage capabilities.
