I had a ZTE Valet and even though it worked very well I got this phone because of the later version Android 4.4 and the dual core processor. VERY fast compared to what I had. Also there are a lot of different customizations and settings that this has. I downloaded a free app called Kinoma Connect from the Google Play store and since I have videos on my micro SD card I can then play them to my TV through my Sony Blu-Ray player BDPS-5200 (also bought at local Walmart). The movies or pictures stream perfectly into my big screen TV. Crystal clear and no voice lag or out of sinc. I added Amazon Kindle to it and able to read my Amazon books. Comes with Youtube and that works perfect as well. I downloaded and installed Firefox and it's a blast to use. The one app that works near perfect on this phone compared to the ZTE Valet is the QRBS code reader that reads those square bar codes you see on some packaging. Might be the better camera, but all I know is you scan the information code and it finds it nearly instantly. You can also download and use the "My Account" app that has a widget (program screen) for checking your talk/text/data balance with Tracfone. That is also on Google Play store. Easy to install programs and easy to uninstall them if they don't fit your liking. Good sounds, vibrations, apps and crystal clear views make this an exciting phone to have. By the way the call (phone) works wonderful. You can even import a picture of someone on your contact list and then that face shows up when you look through your "contacts" for more personlization. Additional protective cases can be found at Amazon for dirt cheap, ... talking in the less than $4.00 range as well as screen protectors as well. I love technology and this one is pretty close to perfect for such a low price. Makes it a GREAT value! Buy 2!! Keep one for a spare battery or if it ever goes "glitch" on you, just transfer your number to the new phone and it's as easy as pie.

I purchased an LG Optimus Fuel from a competing store and paid more for it, well worth it.. When My spouse wanted the same phone, I ordered it for store pickup and it was ready the same afternoon. For $30, this is a great buy. Phone works well and has Android Kit Kat 4.4 for OS. We both think the phone is great. And WalMart online and in store pickup service was a great way to purchase this phone. My wife actually likes the Sponge Bob case. The earbuds you can just toss. They are not good.

Tracfone+magicJack=Home & cell phone for $10/month

Reviewed in the USA on 2014-11-27T16:00:00

I use an LG Optimus Android Tracfone and pair it with the magicjack app and it is a money saving machine. The magicjack app gives you free calls on android/apple phones/ tablets/iPod touch wherever you have WiFi,and I have WiFi almost anywhere in my area.Whenever I make a call the phone gives the option to use the magicjack or tracfone dialer which helps you save tracfone minutes. The more I use the magicjack app over WiFi,the more tracfone minutes I build up as any unused tracfone minutes carry over when I add the $20 tracfone card every 3 months. I use magicjack for $35/year($3/month) for my home phone service and have the app set to use my home phone number. When someone calls me at home it also rings my cellphone and tablet if I am connected to WiFi.Because of the app, I only need minimal tracfone minutes for $7 a month( I buy the $20 tracfone card every 3 months which adds 180 talk minutes/180 text/180 mb's data) for rare occasions when i don't have access to WiFi.So I get home phone service and cell phone service for $10 a month.Recently, the app even works on 3G although I turn the 3G data off most of the time and use WiFi as much as possible(works better on WiFi).My cable internet company I use for home internet has WiFi hotspots almost everywhere in my area. If you don't have or want to use a cordless or corded home phone, you could pay even less than I do using the tracfone/mj app combo. Here's how: If you used the free version of the mj app with an android tracfone with triple minutes with this card, you would get almost unlimited minutes wherever you have WiFi and 60 tracfone minutes/60 texts/60 mb's data/a month for when you can't access WiFi for $7/month.The free app version gives you a number that has an asterisk at the beginning and end. For $20,you can choose your own regular U.S. number for the app making your total cost for phone service about $9 a month the 1st year and the next year it is $10/year to renew your number which would drop your cost to $8/month(probably a much better option for a little extra money). This will give you 2 separate dedicated U.S. numbers to use on your mobile phone. As of now,I prefer the tracfone/magicjack/magicjack app combo for $10/month because I still like to use a regular cordless phone at home to give the cell phone a rest.I also like having 2 separate dedicated U.S.numbers(home number and mobile number) to use on my LG tracfone.Very happy with tracfone and magicjack service. I would also recommend downloading the deep sleep battery saver app to preserve battery life as well as turning off WiFi and the mj app when you are not using it.I use my phone for mainly calling and occasional texting and the phone works just fine.So far ,I am only using deep sleep battery saver, youtube, magicApp and a chess app and use google for looking up phone numbers and addresses.Other reviewers will use more apps than I do.I wanted to spend more time explaining how people can get the most value out of this phone. I use my tablet a lot,so a larger smartphone does not appeal to me.I prefer a compact phone. And buying a less expensive android phone gives you less worry about it getting broken. Although I use my phone over WiFi as much as possible to save money,I think an added benefit is this might discourage people from using their phone while driving, which I think is a good thing.

TRACFONE LG OPTIMUS FUEL

The Reason I upgraded to the Optimus Fuel was for better coverage. I had an LG tracfone that was very, very iffy for reception. Frankly, I had to go outside my mobile home and hold the phone a certain way above my head and if the wind was right, I could get reception. ( To be completely honest, I live in a very rural area about 20 miles from a small town. ) I have owned the Optimus Fuel for about a week. My reception is much improved. I get 2 bars while inside my home and the clarity of voice is near landline quality. I was confused at first when it showed data amounts, text amounts and minutes. But after I learned I could simply switch all of them off except the minutes I felt better. I didn't want to burn up the minutes accidently by going online (as happened often with my previous phone.) I don't text. And I don't use the phone to surf the web. For the price, I just could not beat it. And it carries over the triple the minute feature of my last LG phone. Are there any drawbacks. Only one. Where the button that turns it off and on is located is exactly where you hold it to talk so it is quite easy to bump it to start the sequencing of turning off the cell phone. But that I can deal with. Lastly, I'm glad I bought it and I am in the process of replacing my girl's tracfone with the newer Lg Optimus Fuel.

I got this to replace a flip phone. Got tired of trying to text with the flip. I've had it a couple of weeks and so far not any problems. I really like it. Sure it's not an IPhone or Galaxy but hey your getting a pretty decent little phone for $30. Plan on getting one for my daughter soon. You can find plenty of cases for it on Amazon from $5 and up. Tracfone service is great. Transferred my minutes over from my old flip phone in about 2 minutes, very easy online.

With the LG Optimus Fuel, I get 2 bars sitting in the living room and WiFi works good on my home network. With the LG Optimus Fuel, texting works better if you turn the phone to landscape. My fingers were too big in portrait, and I kept having to backspace and retype letters. I turn my finger sideways and use my fingernail to type ... that works pretty good. The touch screen is very sensitive so it does not take much pressure to type. It took a while to get my new phone Activated and set up Voicemail and login to my Google Account because of my problem with the keyboard, but once I finished all of that everything works good. When I was setting up Voicemail, I put in on Speaker so that I could talk and type at the same time and the Speaker was loud and clear. I downloaded the Tracfone My Account app from Google Play so I could check my Minutes & Service. I used my laptop to transfer some Music MP3 files to the SD card, and they sound good with the included Earbuds. If you don't like the Sponge Bob case, you can get another case for $5 or less. This is my first Android Smart Phone so I have a lot to learn, but I love this phone so far. It will be hard to find a better phone than the LG Optimus Fuel for $30.

I bought this phone for my son & nephew, and it is a great phone for them. You are in control with NQ Family Guardian. It's perfect. I love it and my son and nephew love it too. The battery life lasts up to 2 days. All I can say is if you're looking for a phone for your kids. This phone is perfect simply because they give a free year of NQ Family Guardian which puts you in control on what apps your kids can use. Although the data can sometimes be kind of slow but overall is a great phone.

Spotty coverage with Tracfone Android
(1)
Reviewed in the USA on 2014-12-06T16:00:00

The Tracfone LG L34C (Optimus Fuel) does not have reliable cell phone coverage where the Tracfone LG 840G does. I've been on the phone with Tracfone many hours trying to get the problem resolved but to no avail. I had the phone for 38 days and 25 of those days trying to resolve the coverage problem with Tracfone. Since they could not resolve the problem I asked for a refund and they refused to give me a refund since I had the phone over 30 days. There is no way I would recommend a Tracfone Android phone to anybody. This is the second Tracfone Android that didn't give good coverage, the first was the ZTE Valet.
